Scientists have found evidence that another object has bombarded Jupiter, exactly 15 years after the first impacts by the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9.
Following up on a tip by an amateur astronomer, Anthony Wesley of Australia, that a new dark "scar" had suddenly appeared on Jupiter, this morning between 3 and 9 a.m. PDT (6 a.m. and noon EDT) scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., using NASA's Infrared Telescope Facility at the summit of Mauna Kea, Hawaii, gathered evidence indicating an impact.

"We were extremely lucky to be seeing Jupiter at exactly the right time, the right hour, the right side of Jupiter to witness the event. We couldn't have planned it better," said Glenn Orton, a scientist at JPL.<<
It was hit by Odumbo’s sinking poll numbers, coming down from the heavens.
What are the odds that Jupiter would be struck in the same location 15 years later? Astronomical !
“My God! It’s full of stars!”

In this case it is Thetis a sea nymph! Ain't politics a hoot!
I have friends that live in Jupiter

Jupiter is a very big, like our Federal Deficit.
And like Debt, it sucks in everything around it.

The early cgi effects used in that film ‘2010’- - the cost and time were so high that in the last scenes of the digital animation of Jupiter, it went to black and white(gray scale).
In the movie they explained that the planet “lost its’ chemical stench”.
I believe that will make Jupiter eligible for several billion in stimulus money. I mean there is a shovel ready program if there ever was one...filling in that big hole in Jupiter!!
This website is from Greece, so they should be calling the planet Dias (or Zeus).
Check out the eagle giving Old Jove the attaboy look!
I have read that an event like Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 impacting Earth happens every century.

America Poses Danger For Other Planets
Consensus of all scientists says America to blame.
hey I live there too. I mean here. I mean, well, before that astronomical thing hit us.
Bush’s fault. Women and minorities affected most.
NO doubt life on Jupiter was wiped out.
Actually the website is from Macedonia, not Greece.
Macedonia is full of divisive ethnic groups, not Greeks.
Macedonia is much like Bosnia.
I have an alibi.
>>Jupiter sweeps up a lot of debris in the outer solar system,
almost certainly keeping us alive that much longer.

Yes yes, Cosmic Vacuum Cleaner for the Solar System.
Its’ gravity pull along with the Sun’s diametrically opposed pull, also kept the asteroids from forming into a planet.
I am sure you do!
I've been in both the Greek part of Macedonia and what was then the Yugoslav part, in order to visit Ohrid (lovely place, wouldn't rate the lake as quite as scenic as Lake Tahoe, but Ohrid has a much better supply of medieval frescoes than any place on Lake Tahoe).
Bosnia has people who almost all speak the same language but are divided by religion (in many cases family tradition rather than personal belief). The Republic of Macedonia has a majority who speak one language (closely related to Bulgarian) and a large minority which speaks a completely different language, only distantly related (both are Indo-European languages).
If the Serbs in Bosnia ever manage to secede from Bosnia and Herzegovina, that might encourage the Albanians in Macedonia to try to break away, but joining Albania or Kosovo may not hold that much appeal, and trying to be independent wouldn't make much sense.
