Astrologers: Solar Eclipse Will Cause World Violence...
Fox News ^ | JUly 21st, 2009

Posted on 07/21/2009 11:15:13 AM PDT by TaraP

This week's solar eclipse has Indian astrologers predicting violence and turmoil across the world, AFP reported.

In Hindu mythology, the two demons Rahu and Ketu are said to "swallow" the sun during eclipses. It takes the life-giving life and causes food to become inedile and water undrinkable, AFP reported.

Mothers-to-be are told to stay inside so their baby doesn't develop birth defects and some are worried a major world catastrophe will take place.

Raj Kumar Sharma, a Mumbai astrologer, told AFP, "some sort of attack by (Kashmiri separatists) Jaish-e-Mohammad or Al Qaeda on Indian soil" and a devastating natural disaster in Southeast Asia.

But, scientists and astronomers are trying to downplay the claims, saying Wednesday's eclipse is a nature occurrence.

Well, people that worship a moon god might read symbolism in the event.

Well, so's an asteroid strike.

Perhaps these scientists and astronomers confuse natural with harmless?

This garbage is predicted everytime there is an eclipse in the Third World and nothing significant ever comes to pass.

This is liberal elitists looking down their noses at less developed cultures.

The world seems to be teetering on the edge of violence, so they may just be playing the odds. If nothing happens, they can lay low for a while, and then make a fresh prediction.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2296923/posts#17

However, that’s exactly what’s going to happen in the middle of the United States in the next 50 years — four total eclipses of the Sun will cross a region just 600 miles across, within the space of 35 years. Two places in the USA will each see two total eclipses of the Sun separated by just 7 years. And as if that wasn’t enough, just 20 years later it happens again in Mexico, just over the border from Texas!

A “mania” of total solar eclipses in the United States...

But, interesting, that the earth may be hit with a solar flare about that same time, or a bit later:

next 24 hours 25% chance of an “active” storm in the mid
latitudes and 35% chance in the high latitudes.

I remember reading about one of the first Muslim invaders of India - his opposition was a Hindu king who should have been able to repel the Muslims easily. But his astrologers kept telling him to wait for an auspicious day to make his stand. While he was waiting for the stars and planets to align, the Muslims conquered his city and killed the king and his astrologers, along with most of the population.

Astrology is pure nonsense. You'd think history would have taught every Indian that.

Post hoc, ergo propter hoc.

1.) There will be a total solar eclipse.
2.) It will be followed by violence somewhere in the world.
3.) Therefore, the eclipse caused the violence.

Somewhere Jeanne Dixon chuckles softly.

I did like the movie, and I think it touched on some biblical prophecy...The Aliens I think were suppose to be Angels that were taking the Kids (Rapture) to heaven to start over, the tree of Life..

Earth was left to endure the tribulation....

No. It can, and probably will, get much worse.

Think of it this way: Getting a pink slip is not the worst thing that can happen. The worst thing is the chain of events that can follow that event. It is merely the beginning of trouble.

Oh, what a distinguished and insightful astrologer.

A jihadi attack in India and a natural disaster in the Indonesian archipelago or the IndoChin region.

Brilliant.

I plan on watching it on-line. It's a once a century (or less) event. The length of totality is near the theoretical limit due to the Sun's distance relative to the moon.

Exactly why I started to like this movie. I did get the angel idea, and explained it to my kids who were a bit scared at the intensity at one point, and we were all kind of viewing it through a biblical prism, but when it ended up being aliens (and very similar to “Close Encounters of a Third Kind”) the movie lost us.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I thought they were trying to convey the Aliens or Angels as the 2 Witnesses when they expelled fire from there mouths and then when they transformed into beings with wings, it seemed to indicate the rapture with all the angels as they were asending back to heaven....
