The hope and optimism that washed over the country in the opening months of Barack Obama's presidency are giving way to harsh realities.

An Associated Press-GfK Poll shows that a majority of Americans are back to thinking that the country is headed in the wrong direction after a fleeting period in which more thought it was on the right track.

The number of people who think Obama can improve the economy is down a sobering 19 percentage points from the euphoric days just before his inauguration. Ditto for expectations about creating jobs. Also down significantly: the share of people who think he can reduce the deficit, remove troops from Iraq and improve respect for the U.S. around the world, all slipping 15 points.

HEY LIBS: "IN MACY"S WINDOW!"

As The One sees it, he has one job: turn America into Western Europe...so we can all be equal.

This guy is a Marxist who is looking for a way to manage-down our standard of living.

Amazing that AP admitted it, and didn’t try to hide it.
The current pres’s policies are a failure.

Obama still has a solid 55 percent approval rating — better than Bill Clinton and about even with George W. Bush six months into their presidencies.

"The hope and optimism that washed over the country in the opening months of Barack Obama's presidency are giving way to harsh realities."

In the runup to the election, I tried to get some Obamatrons I know to clearly explain what they thought he was going to accomplish. Other than some vague references to "bringing the country together," "giving us hope," "bringing change," etc., they couldn't verbalize what their expectations were. This is what happens when too many people vote for an image or style, rather than a package of real ideas and solutions. These people are in for an emotional crash landing.

The harsh reality is that Obama has been a depression and an embarrassment on this country. There have been no “good days” since this person set foot on the stage.

He has created untold misery in this country. He is asking people to vote for putting their parents and grandparents down like animals, he has taken our savings, he has made us unsafe ETC, I could go on and on. He is absolutely a disgrace.

If we are to ever have any peace like we used to have, Obama and his communists need to be kicked to the curb.

They have already ruined America. I am sickened by it.

How many of us long for days gone by?

New Obama bumper stickers:

“If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.”

“Didn’t our ancestors leave Europe to get away from this crap?”

“Barack Obama: A new chapter in American history, Chapter 13.”

“I hope I have some change left in four years.”

“How’s that hopey, changey thing working out for you?”

“Honk if I’m paying your mortgage.”

“The big three couldn’t sell me a car, so they stole my taxes instead.”

“Are you better off than you were $4 trillion dollars ago?”

“Hey, Barack, we’re baroke!”

“No we can’t … afford any of this.”

Michelle and the girls got the last one. Yours is on back order. Perhaps you'd be interested in this brown rat, instead? Or we have some very nice cockroaches, imported from Tony Rezko's slums palatial apartment homes in Chicago.

Is there ANY way we can convince more than HALF the American electorate, that we should START with reality,
and slowly , very slowly,IF AT ALL, and only “for fun”, build to these ethereal concepts like “hope” and “change”.
All of US knew what to expect with Obama, and we found out an alarming number of dumbed-down Americans were looking for a Messiah, in this “secular” society.

Certainly by the time he starts his third term you should be well on you way to getting these needs fulfilled.

Not long after The One’s inauguration I heard a couple of ladies talking on the subway on the way home from work, one was telling the other about the TALF program and how Obama was going to bail her out of all her credit card debt. I started laughing, I’m sure they knew I was laughing at that comment but both ignored me and kept talking about “Barack this and Barack that.” It was sickening and hillariious at the same time.

In Obama's case, the problems he's confronting domestically and internationally are legion

Lying liberal AP bullcrap. Notice how easily and painlessly they slip it to you.

There is no "Carbon/Global Warming" problem other than the confiscation of wealth using AGW as a figleaf.

There is no "health care crisis" other than the desire of goobermint schmucks to seize control over 17% of the economy, for no good reason.

Iraq is a win, if the asshole-in-chief would just accept it and move on. Gitmo is a phoney leftover crust of bread from the campaign. No one cares about these terrorist scum. Really.

Iran and the Middle East are no-brainers, fumbled away by those with--no brains.

The economy is in dire need of benign neglect, with damage control at the margins, as the credit bubble corrects itself, admittedly painfully. Everything the jerkoffs at treasury, the fed, and Czar Central have done has made it worse. In other words, Socialist douchebag Obama has created his own problems and he deserves to stew in them.

1. Obama’s approval rating is 10th out of the 12 modern presidents.
2. Only 23% of respondents to this poll regarded themselves as Republican.

Is there ANY way we can convince more than HALF the American electorate, that we should START with reality,

Start with seeds of doubt--"I dunno, its been six months and I haven't seen anything get better yet. That's a long time for this bailout thing to sit there dead in the water. Especially if you're one of people who are still losing jobs the last couple months."

Let reality seek its own level. Obamanoids are like cult-victims. they need to surface on their own.

I believe the media is so willingly reporting this because they are trying to help Obama. They want us to relax and stop fighting this issue because we think the battle is won. Do not fall for this again! There were no PUMAs.

Those who live in states with Blue Dog leadership need to pound them and keep pounding them until the defeat is so humiliating that Obama won’t dare raise it for the rest of his term.

Independents are "the ones to watch," according to Professor Robert Shapiro, a Columbia University expert on public opinion. "The Republicans were more pessimistic from the outset. The Democrats are going to be more resistant to negative information."

LOL...Insert you're own joke here.
