The cost of the "nanny-state" is coming home to California's electorate. Can't wait to see how this plays out. Bet the legislature doesn't have the guts to pass this!

IOW the poor, elderly, orphans, widows, downtrodden — their lot will be the same as in pretty much every other state in the Union.

Lets see if they pull funding for the illegals. Yeah, that’ll happen.

I sure HOPE the nation is watching! Because this is ALL OF OUR FUTURES if we allow Democrats and RINO’s run this country into the ground with all these damned entitlements.

All the “cuts” are future.

(probably won’t really happen)

The money all comes from theft from local government; meaning that we get punished again for not voting to be taxed to death.

Typical MSNBC drivel. “It will hit the elderly and poor hardest.” NO ONE in this country is without food, housing, medical care or other necessities if they want them. Another attempt by the nut job commies at MSNBC to scare the ignorant into throwing themselves into socialism.

:::::
Probably not — since OVER $10 BILLION PER YEAR of our money is squandered on their illegal Mexican voting base in Taxifornia. The state could solve its money problems if the DemoRats would run their illegal voters out of state — and the Repubs might have a chance to bring back some conservative sanity....I know, I dream a lot. But I am old enough to have seen Taxifornia when it WAS a conservative, well-managed state with a responsible legislature — then liberal blight hit, and that was the end of Taxifornia’s leadership in the nation.

I am suspicious.

“No new taxes”

How many increased fees? Especially mandatory ones. Colorado just raised the minimum auto lisence fee which is mandatory if you want to drive an auto.

cuts that would hit the elderly and poor the hardest.

Those are not the general population of the elderly but rather the elderly who rarely worked in their lives and the poor are usually people who chose to be poor because they never wanted to work. Why work when they are getting free money from the tax payers? We cannot punish 80% of the population for the sake of the 20% who chose to be parasites.

Pretty amazing charts here:

http://www.ebudget.ca.gov/pdf/BudgetSummary/SummaryCharts.pdf

The state is raising education spending by $4.7 billion over the previous year (see the chart with all proposed budget solutions), and a decrease of $1.6 billion in all other spending (a 2.8% decrease from 2008-2009).

With total spending close to $100 billion, it’s hard for me to see why they are having so much trouble and making such drastic cuts, unless they KNOW the real revenue numbers will come in much worse than their fairy-tale budget...

American citizens are being hurt while California continues to offer free benefits to non-taxpaying non-residents.

$26Billion deficiit = $15Billion in cuts + $10Billion in borrowing

Once again, it pushes the budget mess into the future... borrowed money has to be repaid... usually with interest.

Maybe they’ll rediscover the startling truth the less government subsidizes something—poverty, for example—the less of it they get.

Why is everybody celebrating?

In the "Alice-in-Wonderland" world of politics, cuts never mean cuts. All the reductions in salaries, benefits issued and hours worked will be repaid in the future, when the problem returns with a vengeance.

According to a snippet by Steinberg, the socialist California congresscritter.

You thought they addressed waste? Ever?

Show me the beef!

Let me make a prediction for you all in kalifornistan. The kali govt will make cuts in police and fire protection. They will close prisons and let convicts loose. They will create utter chaos so that a lot of kali types scream that they need more government. Then they will go back to their old ways. It happens time after time all over the country. They don’t give a rat’s ass about the taxpayer, only about thier cushy jobs. “I didn’t get a harrumph outta that guy”.

I hope all the elderly and poor take note that this budget was balanced on their backs rather than being shared by the state employee’s union. Other than a few days furlough a month, sounds like the unions with their cushy benefits and pensions and their double dipping abuse was spared. That’s where the BIG money is. Next time around, that’s where the cuts HAVE to come from.
