Roethlisberger accused of sex assault in lawsuit

RENO, Nev. – A woman has filed a lawsuit accusing Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of raping her last summer in his penthouse hotel room at a casino in Lake Tahoe during a celebrity golf tournament.
Roethlisberger's lawyer adamantly denied the allegations Tuesday, and was quick to point out that the woman never went to the authorities.
"Ben has never sexually assaulted anyone. The timing of the lawsuit and the absence of a criminal complaint and a criminal investigation are the most compelling evidence of the absence of any criminal conduct," David Cornwell said in a statement. "If an investigation is commenced, Ben will cooperate fully and Ben will be fully exonerated."
Cornwell did not immediately reply to a phone message and e-mail seeking more comment.

ok let me get this straight.....she claims he raped her and did nothing about it then a year later shows up and files a law suit? She must be a Dim......(PS: Marinebrat, I’m an AFBrat).....I truly don’t think Rothlesburger has a thing to worry about....if it happened as she said, why did she wait a year and then only to file a civil suit? It’s all about the money!

The suit seeks at least $440,000 in damages from the quarterback and also alleges hotel officials for Harrah's Lake Tahoe went to great lengths to cover up the incident. She's seeking $50,000 in damages from the Harrah's officials.So of course, when she has no evidence, she'll blame the hotel.

One yeat after the fact? No police report or investigation, let alone charges? Famous person?
My guard is up a bit here after what happened to Scotty Anderson of the Lions a few years back. He was lucky and was able to prove his innocence, resulting in his accuser getting busted for filing a false police report.
I don't know what happened here, but I am a strong believer in innocent till proven guilty.
