Mark Martin has the most Cup wins in 2009, yet he's on the verge of missing the Chase.
What's up with that?
After a week off, it's time to crank it up at The Brickyard.
This Week - the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Race Menu for the weekend series
While Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the most popular racetrack in the Hoosier State, the vast majority of motorsports events held in Indianapolis are held at O'Reilly Raceway Park, including a Craftsman Truck Series race and a Busch Series event.
Drag racing, road racing, Sprint Car races and other events suited to a shorter track fall to ORP, which changed its name from Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2006. You can also usually find a large racing program there on the night before the Indianapolis 500.
The annual NHRA U.S. Nationals are traditionally held there on Labor Day weekend and SCCA events are held on the park's road course.
As always, the Nascar at FR race threads are Dedicated to Our Troops serving around the world!

Mark Martin, greatest driver to never win a championship.
The Indy race thread is up.. PING!
I believe the scientific explanation for this seemingly self-contradicting phenomena can be explained in the following formula: Checkers or wreckers.
I hope Goodyear has it right this year.
Lots of peaks and more valleys, eh?
It’s been a rough season for some fans to watch so far.
Time to turn it around.
Smoke and a lot of drivers say they are now goodyear to go.. fingers crossed.
Time for more change? oy.
I thought the change to the current format was supposed to prevent that sort of thing.
back to the drawing board.
Just give the winners another 25 points.
reward winners? good idea.
Thanks for ping! I be race ready.
Thanks for the ping...

Blow motors don't help either.

“”Dont you just hate it when you post and it kills the thread no matter what the topic...””
Now you did it too - we both could have had a Fair Funkle :) Main reason I go to twitter now.

Carmichael into the wall with 14 to to go...
Well...maybe. 20 laps left, you might not get that racing room.

I want JB back!
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)Goodyears Greg Stucker arrived Friday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a nervous stomach. He left the historic track with a sense of relief.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran 27 laps on one set of tires and four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon offered another emphatic endorsement that Sundays race at The Brickyard wont look anything like last years debacle at Indy.
Stucker couldnt have scripted it any better.
It makes you feel pretty good, Goodyears race tire sales director said after two practice sessions. Ive still got a few butterflies. We thought we had asked all the questions, gotten all the answers and were pretty thorough. We felt we were pretty good, but youre always a little anxious when you get here.
Stucker wasnt just spouting the company line.
One driver after another put their stamp of approval on the new tires.
Longtime veteran Jeff Burton said he had full fuel runs, 33 to 35 laps, on the tires in testing without a hint of a problem. Joey Logano, the youngest race winner in Cup history, described the tires as great and Gordon said it was time to forget last years indelible race imagecaution flags because of excessive tire wear.
I think tires are a non-issue, lets move on to something else, Gordon said. They have created a great tire. If anybody has an issue with tires, its not because theyre wearing out.
I was thinking about you during the race. I thought I saw a #23 running in there?
I got to watch part of it. Was at daughter’s inlaws for supper.
Yeah right - lol what was he saying to crew last night when truck wasn’t running up to his standards?
Did you see my update on JB? He had surgery on Mon and now pain blocks etc. then PT. Per his wife on fan club site.

No I didn’t, thank you for the update.
Qualifying at 7:00am Oregon time.
And it’s raining at the track...haven’t had that happen for awhile...
I might get to watch this race after all. Got a forest fire that started up at Paulina Crater very near our cabin at East Lake and their starting to close roads and campgrounds. Tubebender, ya better bring some fire-fighting gear w/your worms and red wine.
