Clear Channel Radio has agreed to donate stations and equipment to the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council as part of a move to increase diversity in media ownership.
Clear Channel Radio will donate a number of AM station to the council through the MMTC-Clear Channel Ownership Diversity Initiative. Initially, Clear Channel Radio plans to donate AM radio stations KYHN in Fort Smith, Ark.; WTFX in Winchester, Va.; KMFX in Rochester, Minn.; and WHJA in Laurel, Miss.
The council will work with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Education Foundation’s Broadcast Leadership Training Program to use these radio stations for training purposes as well as incubate a new generation of minority and women broadcast owners, says David Honig, president and executive director of the council.

Clear Channel is “donating” 4 AM radio stations to the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council, which has pressured the FCC for over 20 years to give preference in FCC licensing based on the skin color and reproductive organs of the licensee.
David Honig is the President and Director of the organization. He is an attorney specializing in communication law. The MMTC was formed in 1986 after the Reagan administration decided that FCC licenses should be handed out based on merit, without regard to racial identity or gender preference. ...By donating the stations, they get some goodwill and maybe some tax or accounting benefit.
Mr Honig has been active recently in opposing the PPM technology, bringing back EEOC enforcement against radio stations via threats to their licenses, and ending practices where an advertiser would say they don’t want to advertise on “black” or Spanish language broadcasters.
On March 5th, 2008, the FCC outlawed “Non Urban Dictates” and “No Hispanic Dictates” which advertisers demanded from their ad rep firms. Probably stations they are losing money on.
Let the company do what it wants to do with its money. Shareholders will approve or disapprove.
The radio stations will likely be epic fails, and a lesson will have been (hopefully) taught.
Since statists are insatiable, they will not be satisfied with just those stations.

“Fort Smith”!? “Winchester”?! These are penny-anti stations with NO listeners and NO income. I’ve been in radio for 30 years and worked at stations like these when I started. BUT! It is a start!
This is how BO gets around the “Fairness Doctrine”. Nobody would back him on that. These stations will naturally be run by minority owners who will be paid NOT to air conservative shows. When other stations come up for license renewel, BO will strongarm into giving stations away to minorities out of diversity sake etc or...no renewel.

Likely 500 watts, dawn to dusk only, and unheard outside the city limits or urban decay area, which ever is smaller.
If they are donating to minorities I am sure Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams would sure like to own a radio station....
I mean what minority is smaller than Black Conservative Republicans?????
Instead they will end up giving these stations to Sharpton and his ilk or La Raza (the Race).
