Another Obama goodie.
Beck had a guest on who explained that Obama is having legislation created that will outlaw any government-insured college loans from private banks and other organizations. Government insurance on the loan will be restricted to education loans from Obama's people. The student, upon graduation, can have the loan forgiven if he/she works for the government for at least ten years.
IOW, Obama is using his power to control who goes to college, what they study, and then makes them work for the government after graduation.
Speechless.
Oh wonderful...
He wants to control everything. Just like a good marxist.
It means no science classes - since they’d immediately place the student in a far higher intellectual plan than the Obamaloons.
Note: Climate Change classes are NOT part of the “science class” set. They are in the “Womyn’s studies” section.
Identured servitude.
Yep, I saw it. The Gov’t will forgive your loan if upon graduation you go work for the gov’t, Americorps, or other approved Gov’t agencies (excluding religious organizations).
The Gov’t will no longer guarantee private college loans but give the loans directly.

Who is going to be brave and stand up to the dictator?
i do... every day to anyone that will listen. if i get within speaking distance, i would gladly take him to task on a number of issues
currently, i’m trying to determine whether a state, after affirming its sovereignty rights, can put a strangle hold on tax money funneling from state residents directly to the fed. my opinion is that the fed should not have direct access to the citizen, but rather the state should contribute to the fed on behalf of its residents... who would pay their taxes directly to the state (or district)
by doing this, the states would no longer be beholding to the fed, but the fed would be beholding to the state

For the COMRADES who missed BECK’s tv show.......
I agree with you.
that Don't set their prices that require HUGE Loans.
and we also bypass all the "enforced Librat brainwashing" that the kids now get in college.
That works well, until you look at the 13th - 15th Amendments (the first uses of Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation, thus giving them the power to enforce a "right")
And then there's the 16th Amendment, giving Congress the right to directly pick the citizenry's pockets, but that's a separate issue altogether.
I think an attempt to Constitutionally challenge this by a state would probably be suppressed using the verbiage of the 14th Amendment (No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States -- a student loan would be a "privilege")
Don't like it, but that's the way I see it.
I wonder if it’s time to move to another freakin’ planet where libs are afraid to go..........
Many students who swooned for the socialist did not know what socialism/Marxism is. They are about to find out when their college is interrupted by The One.
My parents fled Czechoslovakia after their government fell to communists. My cousins, all of whom were excellent students, fought tooth and nail to gain a university education. Of the four of them, the two youngest succeeded in being admitted after several attempts. The two older ones ended their formal education at the age of 19, having attended a practical course of study from 15-19. One studied hotel food service and the other studied library science. They both aspired to much more, but since my grandfather was an entrepreneur, they were all deemed "undesirable" and basically enemies of the state. Grandfather of course lost everything that the Nazis hadn't already destroyed - his business, his home, his financial assets. Many people just don't have a clue.
you go! I have discussed this many times with people. Are we as individuals beholden to the fed. Hey, our birth certificates are issued by the states, for example. Excellent.
And the pukes will be pissed that they WON'T be running the show!!!!
I heard that too. I wonder what companies like Sallie Mae will do now. I also wonder if Direct Loans will purchase those old Sallie Mae loans and consolidate them for me.....
student loans are a farce - I wouldn’t be so quick to defend the banks, or the government, and CERTAINLY not quick to defend the collusion of governments + banks:

Student loans are immune from the consumer protections we afford most nearly any other debt. Students, who have poor judgment anyway, get coerced into taking out loans to pay for over-priced degrees from greedy colleges. Those degrees are mostly worth bupkiss.
Students are predated upon by banks, from loans to “get a free pizza for applying for a credit card” crap.
Sure, Obama will manipulate the problem to his advantage, but the sad thing is that Pubbies and Dims nurtured this crap-hole of a problem know as higher education rip-offs in order to send fed-bucks to their well-heeled constituent (colleges with built-in captive audiences - a populace convinced it needs a BA to survive).
More fruit of making a high school diploma worthless and a BA/BS not even the equivalent of a high school diploma when my dad was a kid (in terms of what real stuff you actually learn).
Time to make colleges austere places of rigorous learning of subject useful to the general citizenry - cut the fat, train brains, not bleeding hearts, charge more for fluff, fewer free amenities and no sensitivity training or “how to put a condom on a bananna 101.”
Why yes, the whole issue of higher ed does rile me - no offense to the author or poster.
