Six Injured in Concert Shootings at Texas Southern University
Campus police believe drive-by shootings are result of rivalry between two gangs.
TSU spokeswoman Eva Pickens says one male student was among those injured Wednesday night.
Pickens says witnesses told police people in a car drove by the outdoor event where a popular Houston rapper was promoting a school supply giveaway and opened fire.
Six people were shot. Pickens says they are being treated at hospitals for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
That means there are six fewer thugs running around.
Hopefully they’ll keep killing each other faster than they’re being born. Maybe someday, through attrition, there will be far fewer of them on the loose instead of in the cemetery where they belong.

The gunfire appeared to be the result of a drive-by shooting.
Houston police confirm the victims were shot at three different locations all within a one-block range, according to ABC News station KTRK.
Witnesses say the gunfire caused a stampede of people running for safety.
“I took off running with flip-flops on. There was a pregnant lady and I tried to help her,” T’Angela DeBoest told KTRK. “I escorted her to someone’s property where she would be safe.” The victims were all taken to area hospitals where they are being treated for reported non-threatening injuries. It is not clear if the shooting victims were students.
The community event was hosted by Houston City Council member Peter Brown, who is also running for mayor.
U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was also expected to attend the community event.
Texas Southern is one of the largest historically black universities with approximately 10,000 students.

Looks like that “traditionally black college” college in Texas was not able to match the body counts of those not “traditionally black college” of Virginia Tech and The University of Texas.

The last time one of the race baiters tried to start a riot in Texas, vast numbers of Texans of all races showed up at his attempted rally (many with guns) and not only shouted him down but ran him and his race baiting friends off in short order.

From what I’ve heard, when they tried anything in Texas more serious than cross burning, they were often introduced to high velocity flying lead by the intended victims, which tended to cut down on the number of idiots willing to try that stupidity again.

Best thing then is to stay away from crap concerts and locales were gangbangers hang. The less the venues are supported, the better off we are.
I would also say that the only tragedy of gang violence, other than its existence at all, occurs when an innocent bystander gets shot, which is why it’s best to avoid the neighborhoods and events that these people frequent.

Yes, thank you Texas State Legislature (actually, the whiney, liberal, city-dwelling hoplophobes among them) for NOT passing a student carry bill in the last session.
Methinks that this bill will be reintroduced in the next session and, in light of this incident, passed. NO ONE shot back because NO ONE WAS ALLOWED TO DO SO. Of course, anyone who carries and is the least bit intelligent will purposely avoid areas and events where there is more likely to be trouble, but it still makes no sense to disarm the law-abiding.
