The point is that the ad was not placed by the parents or grandparents, but was automatically generated from state records (not hospital records). Therefore there is no need for the elaborate theory of deliberate bogus ad placement (ridiculing this theory is a favorite device of Obama's supporters to refute "birther" arguments).

So the question remains: what is on the state records that Obama is so terrified of revealing?

Well, yes. But my reply wasn’t about “natural citizen birth.” I was answering your question re: why anyone would fake a birth announcement.

As to natural citizen birth, you do know that Stanley Ann Dunham did not meet the criteria (over 14 years of age and a resident of the state for at least five years) to pass on citizenship if he were, indeed, born abroad?

It’s entirely possible that the child was born out of country, registered by the family since his mother had recently lived in Hawaii for at least a year and intended to return, issued a Certificate of Live Birth, and a newspaper announcement resulted from that. Or the grandparents could have placed the announcement, as I suggested, to save face.

I don’t know what Obama is hiding. It may have nothing to do with where he was born but rather with other circumstances that would, apparently, be damaging.

He has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep all his records — birth, college, medical, etc. — hidden. Something stinks, and it will eventually come out.
