A new congressional report accuses the radical activist group ACORN of organized criminal activities. I will have a full article here on the American Spectator website in the morning about it.
The report, called "Is ACORN Intentionally Structured As a Criminal Enterprise?" comes from minority staff on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The ranking member on the committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-California), is appearing on the "Glenn Beck Program" on Fox News today to discuss the report.
The report, available here, contains information about the ACORN network's interlocking directorates, various unethical and possibly unlawful activities, and the shocking fact that despite its mounting legal problems, ACORN remains eligible for $8.5 billion in federal funds this year.
Here's an excerpt from the congressional report:
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) has repeatedly and deliberately engaged in systemic fraud. Both structurally and operationally, ACORN hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American electorate.

8.5 billion of stimulus money going to ACORN this year. Any nominee who runs on defunding these criminal bstards gets my vote.
1st step...Immediately pursue a RICO action against all officers of Acorn and successor organizations.
2nd step...Cut off ALL federal funds to Acorn and successor organizations.
3rd step...Ivestigate all ties between Obama and Acorn.
Our boy president shows the skills he learned from ACORN....plus, today Obama was ‘practicing medicine’ and he involved himself in the Gates mess/misunderstanding...it would seem there is nothing Obama can’t do...except lead.
I wonder how much of ACORN(read taxpayer’s) money went to build Obama’s fortune? Are there no records kept at all by ACORN as to how the money is spent?
Sounds like a RICO case
Evading taxes.
Obstruction of justice.
Embezzlement.
Investment fraud.
Engaging in racketeering.
...works for me.
And they’re getting billions of our taxpayer money.
Before the November election, I recall reading that Fitzgerald was working on a big RICO case. Speculation was that it might be related to ACORN, but since then I’ve read nothing more.
Didn’t ACORN change its name?
AmeriCorp was targeted by Walpin. There already is evidence of abuse in that program, but those involved were Obama cronies and got off with a hand slap (Kevin Johnson, e.g.).

Congressman Darrell Issa has been working night and day uncovering the criminal enterprise ACORN. ACORN is set up like Al Capone’s various entities....they have a holding company, and 360 subsidiaries;some are non profit, some not. It is a corporate shell game. But Issa, a former founder and CEO of a major electronics company is well schoold in corporate finance, and has unraveled enough to indict ACORN on multiple felony counts.

Thanks for posting this. Matthew Vadum has done some excellent investigative reporting on Obama and the democrats. He is with Capital Research Center for those that don’t know. We give to their foundation and I encourage others to so so too. It is conservative money well spent. Reminds me...I need to make our donation to Free Republic too. Another place where conservative money is well spent!!
