The fact that this story made the news is NOT good news. Something is up. “See... Bush was going to do it...” Be fearful!

Do you think Obama would not send in troops to quell TEA parties?

So? They were armed, or presumably armed, *foreign* enemies. That's why have a military, to defend against armed foreigners. Even those not formally part of any nation's military. Just because they'd already invaded, doesn't mean the military can't be used to take 'em out..

If a bunch of Cuban, or North Korean, commandos came ashore from a sub on a remote beach somewhere, would these people say, "let the FBI handle them"? I think not. Especially if they were sewing havoc in their neighborhoods. (That might be fun to watch, just cordon the place off and let them deal with it)

"It cited former administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity."

There's those words again.

That is what I think too. Our troops can only fight enemies somewhere other than the United States?

The press has to rag on POTUS Bush, to try and get Obama out of the crappola hole he has put him self in.. have to appoint a special prosecutor for something that never happened,, but the seriousness of the charge...

All the rags (and AP) are trying to stir this up. As if all presidents don’t “mull” sending troops to places they’ve never been.

Yep. The 0bamabots will say that since Bush was considering ignoring Posse Comitatus, it makes it O.K. for 0 to actual ignore it and act on it. However, I doubt that the military will follow such an order from 0.

Personally I think it’s to draw attention from Obama and this Gates/Crowley debacle. Plus something’s soon to be up in Honduras.

Were these guys all foreigners, or were any of them American citizens? I can’t remember. If they were truely foreigners, then I would understand using our armed forces to deal with them. But, if any of them were American citizens (either born here or immigrated here and then became citizens), then using the military should not even be considered.

They can't be used against American citizens...if foreign enemies are on U.S. soil they're dead meat.

I don't know who the idiots are, but WHY would you need "troops" to do what the FBI or local police could easily do?

Story sounds a bit FISHY to me.

“Plus something’s soon to be up in Honduras.”

DING, DING, DING....

Spoke with a VERY well-connected military family member tonite. All I’ll say is watch what unit cadres get attached to Southern Command in the next few weeks.

Could be none, and it could be some...

That is my big fear. Bush screwed the constitution on that one. “Never let a crisis go to waste...”

So you’re telling me that if cells of so called naturalized or legal aliens, say a group like the Taliban, took over cities throughout our country only law enforcement could handle it?

With Obama at the helm, I'll be afraid to look.

Now that this story is on FreeRepublic, I've heard it plastered all over the bottom-of-the-hour news.

It supposedly happened in 2002, but here it is, coming out seven years later, on a Friday night (supposedly when no one is paying attention, right?).

Anybody else think this is a little strange?
