The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 29% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11. That’s the first time his ratings have reached double digits in negative territory.

This is ahead of my prediction. I said it would be at -12 my one week of Tuesday when it was at six last week.
I think this will calvalcade... as he will start showing his true colors.
People are upset with his handling of the Police/Gates affair and his pushing through of Health Care.
Plus just about every TV and Radio conservative journalist commentator from Huckabee to Rush to all of them... is hammering this.
You cannot put a radio on and not hear someone talking about this guy’s failed presidency.
I don’t remember ever, any president this early having this much backlash.
People realize that he’s not in it or them but for him. He’s all talk.

I don’t think Obama’s black support will remain at astronomical levels. We all have the pay the same taxes, we’re all subject to lay-offs, etc. As for the MSM - they’re gonna ride the Obama train right into the ditch, which is a good thing for the rest of us.

It appears from the data that a significant proportion of the black population support him solely due to skin color. (Colin Powell, for example). I suspect the change in this group will be minimal.

I’ve heard a couple calling in on radio the past week. You know, idependents and repubs who said they voted for Obama, and now realize that he was a phony and has not done what he said he would do.
One example that keeps coming up. He was to be a president OF THE PEOPLE and have us view ALL legislation for a week before it is voted on....Of course now he’s reneged on that and no one has questioned him.
I think what you’re saying is truly what is going on.
I can’t provide a lot of support for my statement, so maybe you’e right and I’m wrong. I’ll just point out that “racial pride” (and for whites, racial guilt) may cause great support for Obama sufficient to get him elected and to give him a boost during a honeymoon period, but economic reality has to kick in at some point.
Blacks are losing jobs in this recession in disproportionate numbers. Eventually, that alone should knock Obama from 95% black support to 85% - 90%.
But I’m guessing here.

I think you underestimate the power of 'identity'. Blacks, of course, do not monopolize identity politics, but it's pretty strong among them. Not everyone follows Marx's thinking that economy is everything.
Yes, and more troubling to me: once he really starts to be viewed by more people in the center as a failure, the blacks will start blaming his failure on Whitey. The remaining White Guilt liberals will join them on that.
I’m glad that people are beginning to see the mess he’s put us in and the horror that Deathcare represents. But if/as he goes down, brace yourselves for an increase in both class and racial polarization. If things go the wrong way, he and his power-hungry buds can build on that to, in Alinsky fashion, isolate and demonize the growing opposition; plus there’s ACORN and the general destruction of any sort of credible voting process to worry about.
Perhaps the swing by the center will be broad-based enough to avoid tragedy, but we are not out of the wood yet with this crowd. They have some tricks up their sleeves and they play very, very, dirty.

I hope you are right - but I think perhaps the MSM sees the poll numbers going down and do not want to emphasize Zero and his family having a 40,000/week vacation during a time of so much unemployment and financial hardship for so many Americans.
Tomorrows polling will include sat and Sun, typically strong polling days for libs. It’s possible he may make a small comeback before resuming his death spiral.
This could be temporary....I hope not....but I'll take it. :)
BTW, the 29% who ‘strongly approve’ will in all probability not get any larger because they represent the totally in the tank, drunk on the Kool Aid left wing nut bags. His greatest erosion will continue to be from the Independents, the very group he cannot afford to lose.
