When I snapped out of my left wing trance last year, I was lost in space. I had no conservative friends and was clueless about web sites and books.
I had heard something vaguely about Talk Radio. So I scanned my AM dial and found Michael Savage. (It took several months, and a chat with a rather bemused new friend, before I even realized there were other hosts as well.)
Being a lifelong liberal, I'd never heard anybody like Savage in my life. He yelled; he called people "vermin." He was unbridled masculinity, not the touchy feeling kind I was used to. And he totally accepted himself: his moods, passion, temper.
But what shocked me the most was his saying that men have become "feminized." I'd never been so offended. "Well, what's wrong with men being more feminine?" I shouted back at my radio. "Is there something wrong with femininity?" Men being way more in touch with their yin and less with their yang sounded good to me.
I hadn't exactly been a big fan of masculinity. Like any good feminist, ranting and raving about men were two of my favorite pastimes. Men frightened me. Testosterone fueled types like Michael Savage scared the bejeezus out of me. I had good reasons, of course, given episodes of harassment and abuse.

My wife still has a few uses for me.
A recovering liberal...................Hi Robin ;-)
A recovering liberal...................Hi Robin ;-)
I'll take my yang any day, thank you.
The link (American Thinker) has an Atlantis cruise advertisement for an all Gay cruise. Picture and all.
That's funny right there.
“Liberals: be honest with yourselves. In the end, if the worst case scenario happens (God forbid) and we are attacked, who will you run to? Will you scream out for the Green Czar?
No; all of us, liberals and leftists, conservatives and feminists, we will go where we have always gone from the beginning of time; we will search desperately for the big, strong men to protect us, the ones who have always had the guts, the courage, and yes the cojones, to put their lives and limbs on the line.”
Liberals did this right after 9-11, honoring the firemen and cops who marched into the WTC buildings. It soon passed though. Masculinity is only honored by liberals in the breach.
I’m a single woman, no children, head of household for a multi-generational family with not a man in sight. Our contractor is recovering from a heart attack. I damn near lost a finger yesterday doing necessary carpentry for which I am hopelessly unqualified.
I’m the only person around here who can kill a spider, carry out trash, and investigate creepy sounds in the middle of the night.
And I don’t like it!
The mood I’m in right now, no “feminized” mister is safe within swinging distance of my silver hammer. These self-neutered kitties can KMA.
Robin, Robin, Robin. It’s not hopeless. Move away to flyover country. Still plenty of real men around. You just happened to be in one of those breeding grounds for experimental psychology. Stop reading that claptrap and go fishing.
Those ads are based upon your browsing habits and the terms you search for in popular engines like google and yahoo. Different people see different ads.
yes, my wife likes me lots.
and things to do.
Real men don't harass or abuse women, lady.
“My wife still has a few uses for me.”
Right. Now get out there and mow that lawn and make sure you wipe your feet before you come back in.
I saw it too. What the hell is up with that?
The source of gun-grabbing hysteria. Self-defense is THE most hated of reactions by Pelosi Liberals.
My search habits are far removed from anything gay
Wasn’t anywhere on the page for me; see post #20.
That’s funny in a sad way.
Read the article to the end. She comes to the right conclusion.
Now that's funny.
I get AARP ads, HP back to school sale ads.
again; proof positive, that today’s females can not accept men, as males/men, women want a sister, not a man.....
He was unbridled masculinity .
Who? Palin-Hater Michelle Savage?
You mean...like me...she makes you take out the garbage?
With one one these, I can get all of those I want!
I seem to recall that Adolph Hitler had a saying, “The Masses are Feminine”. What he meant then is that they were easily swayed by emotion and that meant that they could be lead in the direction he wanted them to go, as long as he could keep them emotional and not thinking logically.
By feminizing men here in the U.S., this ultimately leads to them being easily lead by appealing to their emotions instead of their logic.
Thinking about it, it just hit me. Could it also be that this feminizing of men also means that they don’t grow up to be emotionally mature males. Instead it makes them adolescents in adult bodies. Think about it! Puberty all of the time... Lord, what a concept.
How right you are. Great article, but what does she expect living in a place where a whopping 6% of the voters went for Dubya?
She needs to getouttathere. Da sooner da better.
I said much the same to the person that sent me this article.
Crush individualism so that they can more easily integrated into the collective.
Who is going to kill the spiders?
Men are not obsolete, but we get in the way of the feminazi’s and other marxists’ goals.
Lubna Ahmed al-Hussein, an angry Khartoum journalist who works for the UN in Sudan, has started a campaign against shariah law by elevating a local police matter into an international embarrassment: Shes invited the world to witness her judicial flogging, thus making her case part of the struggle between religious traditionalists and independent women a struggle that now may encompass the quadruple murder that was revealed a world away, in Kingston, Ont., on Thursday.
In Khartoum, the General Discipline Police Authority patrols the streets, charged with maintaining shariah standards of public decency. Recently it raided a restaurant and arrested 13 women, including al-Hussein, for the crime of wearing trousers.
Since 1991, thats been a violation of the Sudanese criminal code. More precisely, it is classified as a violation of public morality. While erratically enforced, the rule is serious enough to carry a penalty of 40 lashes. Ten of the women arrested with al-Hussein pleaded guilty and received a reduced sentence of 10 lashes. But al-Hussein and two others demanded their day in court and al-Hussein decided to provoke a scandal by distributing 500 personal invitations to her trial. She expects to be found guilty (she wont be allowed a lawyer or a chance to speak), so she informed her guests that theyll also be expected at her flogging.
The French government has condemned the law, and in Cairo the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) has launched a campaign to defend al-Hussein and the others. ANHRI also protested a suit brought by the police against another journalist, Amal Habbani, for an article praising al-Hussein (A Case of Subduing a Womans Body). The police claim that the mere act of defending female pants-wearing also violates General Discipline.
When stories such as al-Husseins flash around the world, theres usually a missing element: The feminist movement rarely becomes part of the narrative. The rise of shariah law constitutes the major global change in womens status during this era, yet Western feminists remain pathetically silent.
Oprah’s tv ratings are dropping.
This is a very good thing. The less America’s mothers watch that dangerous pablum the better for America’s sons.
Good mothers don’t watch Oprah.
She kind of picked a poor example to start with. Savage is a little over the top. Rush would have been a better example to go with but what the hey. If she is telling the truth and actually has come over to the light side, great.
Uh.. a lot of people love this, some people don't. It's just a matter of taste. I personally like my heroes to just whip ass and that's that. At the end of the day it's a fantasy. From my point of view, action is how men express romance on film. Whether it be romance for family, wives, children, king, country, it doesn't matter. They express their love by whipping ass in the name of one or the other of the above.no, men are not obsolete. They do for family what needs removing them from family may entail, from daily labor to death.
So, instead of being outstide, defying the elements, steering your CO2 belching, whirling blades of steel death machine, you would rather be inside, cleaning lettuce and changing out the laundry? :)
Damn right. God made men and women for specific jobs for a reason. I try to explain to my son that men and women live in two separate worlds, but we share the same planet. They are both born with specific skills and talents, but they are not interchangable. Feminized men are not attractive to women just as butch women are not attractive to men. Thats just the way it is. By denying this and trying to change God’s natural order of things, they end up sorely dissapointed because nature always wins. Animals don’t try to reassign gender and we are at the top of the food chain in the animal world.
LOL! That was good.
“changing the laundry”. Now keep this quiet, but if you screw up the laundry thing enough times, you will be banned for life. Oh darn.
Here in maine, those ‘evolved’ men are usually refered to as ‘pantie waist’ or ‘girlish’. You will still hear the phrase ‘ light in the loafers’.
They are according to Rosie, Ellen, Suze Orman(?), Hillary, Sonia Soto, Helen Thomas,...need I continue???
He made a call to a woman, but a tot answered the phone. Using his "talk-to-an-infant" voice, he tried to get the little thing to get mommy to come to the phone. Tried establishing a rapport with it so it would cooperate, with very little headway. It finally came to
"Tell me, are you a little boy or a little girl?"
"You don't know. Okay. Is mommy there yet?"
"Oh hello, Mabel. I've had an AWFUL time getting your little darling to call you to the phone! And by the way, tell it what sex it is before it comes to an ARBITRARY DECISION!!!"
Some light reading.
