A Brooklyn nurse claims she was forced to choose between her religious convictions and her job when Mount Sinai Hospital ordered her to assist in a late-term abortion against her will.

The hospital even exaggerated the patient's condition and claimed the woman could die if the nurse, a devout Catholic, did not follow orders, the nurse alleges in a lawsuit.

"It felt like a horror film unfolding," said Catherina Cenzon-DeCarlo, 35, who claims she has had gruesome nightmares and hasn't been able to sleep since the May 24 incident

Hope she wins this one.

I used to be pro-choice in my younger days, but now I am pro-life. The older I get, I realize more just how PRECIOUS each life is.

We will lose MANY doctors if this becomes the law of the land. I think most OB/GYN’s wouldn’t do this for any reason. THEY are in the LIFE business!

Well Catherina Cenzon-DeCarlo, they made you help kill the baby and they made me pay to have the baby killed.
And I’m real damn mad about this govt. MAKING me pay for murdering babies.

"The suit also seeks to force Mount Sinai to give up federal funding it receives, because it failed to uphold a federal rule protecting employees who have moral objections to controversial procedures." This is the key to federal forced abortions.

The current resident of the Oval Office has a history of working to protect the heinous killing method called 'induced labor abortion' in Illinois. When he gets his government run healthcare, every hospital in the nation will be compelled to follow federal rules or lose ALL funding for anything. The wicked dead soul in the White HOuse will achieve what past democrat demons like Harkin, Boxer, Mikulski, Lautenberg, and Kennedy could not, he will force all Americans to support the killing of alive unborn children in the evil leftist rites of abortion.

These lying sons of their father, the father of lies a murderer from the start, must be opposed now else we the people will be no better than the tenders of Moloch's altar.

I am astounded that this RN did not know her rights and that another coworker never informed her that she is under no obligation to assist in any way, shape or form with abortions right down to those working in central supply,OR “stores”,etc—they cannot force you or intimidate you to even “pull” ,prepare trays, wrap, autoclave etc instruments for abortions.

Even as an uninformed prolife professional ,why didn’t she simply clock out and leave and then write her memos ?
Hospital could always get another RN, tech, surgical resident,intern/student to “assist”.and yes,we all need our jobs and wages but as Catholics we are not to assist in any way with abortions and that much she knew.

There’s something wrong here.
She signed on for OR ,had to know mt sinai does this and never asked/never was told her rights ?

I worked as an RN prior to roe v wade and obviously since in nyc and never heard of this.

I have friends who are nurses and all are pro-life. They told me that if they were ever told to assist on an abortion that they would resign. I told them I would support them 100%. Thankfully the hospitals they work at don’t perform any.

Dang! Just plain satanic. Each FReeper must make it a full time job to educate the ignorant to enormity of the evil of the “zero” administration.

It's not just her right to refuse. She is now being punished with no overtime in comparison to before.

I hope she sues the hospital into bankruptcy, and sues personally into homelessness those supervisors who directly threatened her with loss of her job to force her to participate in baby murder.

I heard that it is even a sin to use a hospital that performs abortion because you are indirectly giving money to their operations. It might seem extreme, but because I don’t know if it would be a sin or not in God’s eyes, I keep far away from the hospitals that perform abortions. I recommend that all FREEPERS do too.

If the health care bill passes, it will be the law of the land. To practice medicine, you will have to perform abortions. To get your hospital accredited, it will need to perform abortions.

is there no legal remedy if you object (for religious reasons)to the government using tax dollars to kill babies?
you should be able to check off what you refuse to pay for when you send your tax money in.

It’s questionable from this article whether it was at the “emergency” stage, but I can think of a few situations where there is no choice. One is an ectopic pregnancy and the other is eclampsia. Another would be where the woman has certain heart conditions, and the pregnancy is putting sufficient strain on her heart to kill her.

Me too. Always against abortion “personally”...but, felt that first trimester abortion was a personal decision.

No more.
