Record lows, global cooling across U.S. (New Ice Age?)
One News Now ^ | 7/27/2009 | Pete Chagnon

Posted on 07/27/2009 8:39:28 AM PDT by IbJensen

People all across the U.S. are asking a similar question: "What happened to summer?"

A check on Twitter will find a recurring tweet theme from people in New England. For example, "It's so depressing that it's the middle of July, cloudy, and barely 70 [degrees]." Another reads, "Had to wear my winter coat; it was 48 degrees this morning...in July!"

Marc Morano with ClimateDepot.com says all across America, record low temperatures have been broken throughout the summer. He blames that on a recent trend of global cooling that has been in place for more than seven years.

"The reason Climate Depot is covering this is because every heat wave, every extreme storm, everything the media tries to promote when it's the other way -- every hurricane, every drought, flood...they always blame everything on global warming," he notes. "So, all we are merely doing is pointing out some of the dramatic record low temperatures -- dramatic to the point where some meteorologists have dubbed 2009 the year without a summer."

Stupid Gore. Stupid Obama. Stupid Congress that just mills around visiting each other when they're in session and does only harm to our nation.

Our Congressrats generally read all the comments they make for the 'record' as written by their gargantuan and extremely costly staffers.

It’s been one of the nicest summers I can remember here in Indiana. Windows open, air off, I wish it would be like this every summer.

And yet on or about August 1, the NASA climate people will issue a press release saying that we’ve had the warmest July on record.

Algore has already covered his derrier by changing it from Global Warming to Global Climate Change, and in 2004 his Hollywood buddies made a movie to explain the "record cold" issue.

What are they gonna do now? They told the weather forecasters, movie makers, and TV producers to hype the scare. And they did. And it didn’t work, because the reality is bigger than the hype.
What are they gonna do now? They were counting on fooling the public and getting their oppressive, anti-business, expensive marxist “climate” bill passed.
Liberals are damned fools.

What happened to Summer?? Well, I can tell you. It came to Texas for sure! An extended drought coupled with high temps and still days. No real change here, still seems like we’re in two different worlds...

Was at a ballgame in Lowell MA a few wks ago—chilly and rainy. I ordered a hot chocolate! I for one do hope it’s global warming in one respect—I’m traveling to Mississippi in 2 weeks to see ‘the roots of blues music’ and I wouldn’t want hot and humid.

And of course as soon as we point this out to the libs they stop saying ‘global warming’ and say ‘climate change’. I loved when they held global warming marches in snowstorms.

Has Texas left the 'Union' yet? If so I would put up with high temperatures and more freedom any day!

Shhhhh.

It's not Global Warming anymore, it's Climate Change.

And, it's our fault, unless Obama+Company can't fix it. Then, it's a natural process.

Don't upset the orthodoxy. Heretics will be burned.

Well, Seattle has bucked the trend - we’ve had an unusually warm and dry summer. Only about 2 days with measurable rain since mid-May, and warmer than usual temps.

Since about the middle of this month, we’re back to more normal weather in the Washington, DC area - hot and muggy.

Nonetheless, we have had little or no extreme heat so far this summer. We’re getting up to normal, average temperatures and humidity, but so far, we haven’t had days much past the upper 80s or maybe 90.

It’s 101* in Vancouver, Washington today. I was in eastern Oregon last week and it was 110*. So it’s not uniformly cold everywhere. It would not be that unusual for highs in the 70’s here in July, or even cooler. Day after day of 90* and above is rare. We may set an all time record today, previous record in 102* in 1958.

Weather changes and seasons are different and have always been that way. Our grandparents knew that, we seem to have forgotton, or been confused by Gore-on propaganda.

You mean Newsweek may be right?

Just 35 years early.

Whichever way the MSM goes, bet the other way for a few decades.

Weather changes and seasons are different and have always been that way.

Yes.

It's not so much that any LOCAL weather 'changed'. It is more a case of it 'moved'. For an easy understanding of why, one can look at the local 'weather' map, and then cue up a map of the JET STREAM. It's so obvious.

It’s been heavenly in Missouri this year. Much less heat coupled with humidity, abundant rain, glorious blue skies and the cumulus clouds have returned. Lush growth in the garden. It’s had it’s share of hot days and a few where humidity is high, but overall, this has been a perfect summer. I’ve gotten to see plants in my garden I’ve forgotten I planted. As things would spring up, I’d say to myself, “I don’t remember planting that.”

If it stayed like this all year long, we couldn’t afford to live here. ;-)
