Three Republicans are bunched within five points of each when potential GOP presidential candidates are matched up for 2012 with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney barely on top, according to a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll conducted July 21-22. The margin of error for the part of the survey dealing only with Republican voters is 6 points.
Romney leads with 22 percent, followed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 21 percent and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with 17 percent. Former New York City mayor (we're dealing with a lot of "formers" here) Rudi Giuliani polls 13 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich gets 9 percent and by the time we get to an elected official, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, he scrapes together 3 percent. Ten percent say it's too soon to decide.

it’s true, for better or worse, the nominee will be one of these...

Sarah has more spine and guts than the other two. LOL

Nominating the chameleon Romney is the easiest way for the GOP to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, next to re-nominating McQueeg.

I really wish we would not even talk about 2012 and focus on 2010. There is plenty of time to debate 2012 after November 2010. Winning Senate and House seats is the top priority right now and 2012 talk is just a distraction.

I'm not sure who noticed but a couple of days ago both Fred Barnes and Charles K (Fox News analysists) reversed their previous opinion about Sarah Palin's decision to quit the Governorship early. They now agree that it was not a deal killer for 2012. It is finally sinking in to the hard-headed Pubbies that this gal is a serious contender.
Go Sarah Go.

Rudy should run for Gov of NY and stay out of the white house
i think Romney never really stopped campaigning and with his network and pockets may be the next nominee for better or worse

So once again the “Conservatives” are going to let the MSM select their candidate. No wonder the GOP is becoming irrelevant.
To: rabscuttle385
I almost hate to say this, but I believe I will vote for any one of them over Obama. I think Obama has proven to me that sometimes, you really do have to hold your nose and pull that lever.

If Sarah is able to get more Republicans/Conservatives into the House and Senate in 2010, and possibly a majority in one, then Romney and the others can kiss it all goodbye!

its true, for better or worse, the nominee will be one of these... And the Tennessee republican that resigned yesterday thought he was on top of the world and on top of the intern as well just a week ago. Crystal Ball predication.

The only acceptable candidate is Palin. I will not vote for any of the RINOs (Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani, McCain).
