There needs to be an easy to navigate website of US violent crime updated daily indicating an increase or decrease in crime. Consolidated FBI reports are too dated to be of use when your city is burning to the ground. We grow immune to the crime that is reported in the news...another shooting, another rape, another murder.
Let’s look at the big picture and draw some conclusions so that we can drive toward a solution.
Yep. I can pretty much bet that there were not a dozen people shot in Baghdad today. (Besides, this nasty sandstorm would hamper people's aim, anyway...)
I was wondering that also, regarding the race and background of the perpetrators.Per the info in the article all are Black areas except one at 30th & Springfield which is latino (Mexican).
also, wondering if they are “gang banger” types, who are not productive members of society.
Given the time of all the shootings that's pretty much a given. 'Gang related' is mentioned in the article too.
I’m sure it’s racist and biased to speculate about such things.No it's not. Except maybe to Mayor Daley and his toady pols who need the votes from this scum and their (cough) families.
It so happens I listen to this Scanner(1) and the Black and Hispanic Gang Bangers start their crap even early in the morning, like at 8:00am. Last week there was a gang fight (Mexicans) by my old High School at 8:30am. Then it picks up again with 'Gang banger' calls coming in around 2:00 pm (I guess they do get 'some' sleep). And this is every day of the week and Sunday's are no exception. So much for our visitors from the South being 'religious' and having 'family values'.
What Daley has allowed Chicago to sink to with his Sanctuary City policy is criminal. It disgusts me so much I rarely go see my mother-in-law with my wife. And when I do go, I want to get out of my 'old hood' and Chicago asap.
