JERSEY CITY -- Jack Shaw, a Jersey City political consultant who was among 44 people charged in a federal corruption probe, has died.
Two officials with knowledge of the investigation said Shaw was found at home with several bottles of pills nearby. One of the officials said Shaw, 61, had an unspecified medical condition, and authorities are not jumping to conclusions about the cause of his death.

Shaw’s death brings a dark new component to the scandal. Friends and former associates said that for a time, he was a force in New Jersey politics, working with former Gov. James Florio and former Assembly Speaker Joseph Doria, among others.

Doubt it. He knew what was ahead(prison) and took the coward’s way out.
I dont know but they better check to see he has both his kidneys before they bury him.

How can you be so sure it was suicide? This guy was sick, under indictment, and had lots of songs to sing.

He worked for Florio, and he had to know where the skeletons are buried.

I wonder how many corrupt politicians and their associates in DC are watching what is happening in Jersey. Maybe paying more attention to this than the HC Bill. I am sure some of these Jersey mobsters (as they have become) have connections, did favors, gave favors, or in some way have links to some in Washington who are shaking in their boots now.
Like to see them all off themselves.

But there was also the Jack Shaw who fled Illinois after being investigated on suspicion of mishandling $50,000 from a Democratic organization, and was later accused by a business partner in New Jersey of embezzling money to support a drug habit. And this is the Times, so you know it’s a hell of a lot worse covered up/left out or spun. BTW, he was a huge union associate (even though they played it as ‘he had no more juice’).
