When Anisa Borsberry confronted a group of playground bullies she hoped it would finally bring an end to her 11-year-old daughters ordeal.
But the next day she found she herself was the victim . . . with the forces of law and order lined up against her.
Eight police officers in three patrol cars and a van descended on her home and arrested her. Anisa Borsberry with daughter Taylor, 11
The 40-year-old was marched out in handcuffs even though a claim that she had hit one of the bullies had already been withdrawn.
She then had her fingerprints and DNA taken and was thrown into a cell for more than five hours.
I was speechless when I heard what I was supposed to have done, she said yesterday. I couldnt understand why I was in this situation. I knew I had done nothing wrong and was totally innocent.
The children had already admitted lying but yet here were two statements they had made to the police after their parents had made a complaint.

This needs a UK “Ale Summit”.
Lawsuit time.
Criminals (that includes bullies) always lie to protect themselves.
This is in England, and it seems that this problem of kids getting out of hand and the adults being unable to do anything about it for fear of police action against the adults has been going on for a while.
Lawsuits don't fly all over the place like they do here.
It must be my Southern upbringing, but if I’m going to be taken to jail, I’m going to make sure it’s worth my time and that of the police. If I’m going to be arrested for assault, then someone is going to bleed.
zero’s Brown Shirts practicing.
This is no different in this country.
The same thing could happen very easily. Probably has.
In this country the Bully and the Child who was picked on would probably both be suspended ,because of a zero tolerance stupid rule.
Bullying seems to be a problem here as well. I know someone who had to put their child in another school because the regulations protect the bullys rather than the victim.
They have effectively controlled those evil trial lawyers...
Find a nice, mean lawyer. This case sounds ripe for a civil rights whoopin’.
Though, yes, this is likely to be a scenario soon to be played out here in the USA,
this incident was in the UK.
Perhaps she should have claimed to be a Muslim, then the Police would have been afraid to arrest her.
Something we clamor for, yet many on this thread would be disappointed if this woman can’t sue. Go figure.
Since the public schools are already built like prisons, why not add cameras with full audio in the classrooms, buses, and play areas? As a parent I wouldn’t mind.
If it was me, I would make dadgum sure the police destroyed my fingerprints and DNA that they took. Since no crime was committed and all charges were dropped, the police shouldn’t be able to retain personal information taken under fraudulent circumstances.
