Pelosi doesn't gaurantee Blue Dog provisions By Mike Soraghan Posted: 07/31/09 06:35 PM [ET] Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) indicated Friday that some of the most hard-fought provisions of the healthcare bill, including parts meant to appease conservative Democrats, could change by the time the final measure reaches the House floor.
Pelosi's remarks came as the House Energy and Commerce Committee hammed out the final details of the bill, including a deal with Blue Dog Democrats and a tax to pay for the legislation.
Three committees have worked intensively on the bill, and assuming passage by the Energy and Commerce Committee on Friday, the three versions will have to be melded during the August break.
In a session with reporters, Pelosi wouldn't commit to putting the exact language of the deal with Blue Dogs in the final bill.
"I have three chairmen to deal with," she said. "We have three committees that have to look at it."
The Blue Dogs who cut the deal with Energy Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) said they have complained to Pelosi about reports that that their hard-won concessions might be removed.

IMHO, HE IS BEING EXTORTED. She has the position as DICTATOR, feeding him bills to sign while he flies around the country making photo ops. He seems to prefer that, and seeing that she can bring down the country as easily as he can, it is a satanic bargain make in hell.
There are likely others involved, i.e. Clinton, but it is Pelosi who can pull the plus on obamanation.

The White House wants *any* bill, even if it is gutted, because then it will be referred to a House-Senate conference committee, where they can reverse all changes made to it, as if it never went through those other committees at all and was pristine from the White House.
Then it will be a straight up-or-down vote in both the House and the Senate—and here is where the real arm twisting begins, because this is the ONLY vote that matters.
If they want, in the conference committee, they could completely change the bill, so no other health care was *legal* but socialized medicine.
Those living in states represented by Blue Dogs MUST make them scared to death...of their CONSTITUENTS! Not of Pelosi and her DNC threats and thugs.

Once they a bill, it’s like getting on first. They just need to get their foot in the door. That’s why health care, no matter what gets taken out or “guaranteed” needs to be defeated. It will only be a matter of time before they start taking liberties.

The conference report can be filibustered, unless they attach it to a budget reconciliation bill, which would be unlikely.
