Southport firearm maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. said new gun models helped nearly double sales in the fiscal second-quarter, contributing to a 700 percent gain in net profits.

Good, I will be contributing to their profits by getting a new Super Redhawk KSRH9 .44 Magnum with a 9 1/2” Barrel.
I would like to check out their newer CCW 9 mm.
RGR has had a nice little run these past 6 months.
Is that the 9mm based on the LCP?
I’d like to check out their new LCR .38+P revolver for concealed carry — 13 ozs.
Of the guns I have the older version of the Vaquero 45 is my favorite.
A long barrel makes a gun hard to carry and hard to conceal. Most pistol fights occur with in 10 a ft range. Get something that is easy to maneuver. My .44 magnum has a 4” barrel, and it’s still huge. Just my opinion tho.
I know some may scoff at this, but I have a LCP, w/Hornady FTX Critical Defense rounds.
Compact, and light-weight.
I wonder if this is related in any way?
buzzed and too lazy to look it up
I remain,
skep, or, toid . ... . l...
I wonder if that’s why OSHA is trying to slap them with a $255,000.00 fine?

Their new AR type rifle rocks!!
I wish I would have held off on buying on back in January, and bought a Ruger. They are a bit expensive though.

I was on the Ruger website looking at the SR-556 (pricey!), and I noticed that there is a a recall on some Ruger LCP's...thought you might want to know...see:
http://www.ruger-firearms.com/LCPRecall/index.html
SR-556: http://www.ruger-firearms.com/SR556/specs.html
Yeah, I have a Crimson Trace on one of my other Rugers.
A Mark II Bull-Barrel.
As for the LCP, the pull is long, and it will take getting
used to.
I have the new LCP, so, no issues there.
I have some of those Hornady rounds for my .40 cal as well. I haven’t ever fired them tho as they are expensive.
The previous owners of S&W sold out to Clinton. They were acquired by one of the ammo companies, I believe. They are currently in good hands.
Have four ruger handguns myself. Revolvers are pretty much indestructible. The 22 pistol is the most accurate weapon I have and can pick eyeballs at 15 yards.
I hope to never use them.
But, they will be worth it.
The guy who taught my CCW class had one of those. Very small and compact, lightweight. I didn’t fire it, but thought it would be good for the missus.
God Bless them for their obscene profits. May they make even more and more for themselves and their employees.
This country is arming itself like no other time in my memory (born in 1975) and that warms my heart while making me worried about the near future. The insanity in Washington is the direct cause for both.
Dare say it but I’m glad I’m in Texas where good sense, taking a moment to praise the Good Lord.......and then passing the ammunition is still the SOP. I hope for the rest of you that you are simililarly good positions.
One thing is for sure. The current Admin will either “meet it’s Waterloo” before the end of the year and we’ll be left with a neutered POTUS weak internationally and left only to cut ribbons and sign park naming bills. OR, the current Admin will win at which point we come apart nationally and face the economic repercussions of a fractured and flailing state.
Neither are good. Stock up on the ammo, canned goods, and gold. It’s sad, but, this is where we are at.
One day, when I take the time to figure out how to put pictures here, I will post some pictures of my Magna-Port
44 Super-Blackhawks.
They are totally Bad A$$!
Speaking of gunmakers, look who’s on the Marlin website:
http://www.marlinfirearms.com/
My long barreled revolvers are 7.5 to 10.8 inches. Just right for hunting. Completely inappropriate for self defense in a "home" setting.
Yours is handy and good for all around general purpose work. A pistol with a 9.5" barrel is going to be a hunting weapon and inherently more accurate than yours simply due to a longer site radius.
BTW: Can’t afford a Ruger, Glock, S&W, Colt, etc.? Take a look here: http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com
“All Hi-Point firearms carry a lifetime, no-questions asked warranty. Whether you are the original purchaser, or a third-hand owner, your Hi-Point firearm will be repaired free of charge.”
Oh yes, I definitely agree. Both my .44 mag and my .40 cal are 4 inch, and targets outside of 25 ft become incredibly difficult to hit. With the distance between front and rear sight being short, any movement in the hands radically changes bullet placement at the target.
Very good post.
I have been doing alot of research on Michigan’s Open-Carry Laws, lately.
We can Open-Carry here, even if you don’t have a CPL.
There are many sites to consult here, that can tell you of our rights, here in Mich.
Can you Open-Carry, there?
Got one. It’s nice. Finding ammo is a bit difficult though.
And add a couple hundred feet per second with a 9” barrel.

Nice....that is on my list.
Your obvious observation of this fact overwhelms me.</sarc> I am not buying this gun for conceal to carry but for hunting and competition silhouette shooting.I would never carry a short .44 for a concealed weapon. .357 Mag and .45 ACP compact is best.
It’s a great gun and I will also be adding a Millet SP1 Red Dot sight.
Socialist punk makes me sick.
Are you talking about this one?
Have you seen or shot this weapon? I find Ruger products to be very reasonably priced or usually highly discounted from their MSRP by most dealers. I will be getting my Super Redhawk KSRH9 with a Millet Red Dot sight, brand new for around $740.
Do you have the GP100 or Super Redhawk?
Both deals from Ruger and Smith and Wesson don’t matter anymore. Bill Ruger has passed away and S&W is owned by SAF-T-Hammer.
The same people who hold grudges like this probably have a closet full of Chi-Com rifles. Go figure.
The only thing Bill Ruger was ever guilty of was thinking he could deal with the democrats. That’s the problem with honorable men. They somehow think the world deals on their level.
Bill Ruger was a patriot, inventor and genius. Our gun world owes him a great deal. He never once tried to pass on junk to the shooting world except for the problem with the Mini-14 and Mini-30 series. That was explained by the fact the consumers didn’t seem to mind since they bought millions of them.
I’m starting to understand the hatred toward Smith, Ruger and the NRA is caused by small minded people. Those who can’t do any better.
That’s the one!
I have yet to handle or operate one. I’ve only seen pics of it, and it does look great.
Here’s a good writeup by Massad Ayoob:
http://backwoodshome.com/blogs/MassadAyoob/2009/06/11/new-ruger-in-hand/
While the trigger mechanism is a departure from a traditional lever/rebound spring system, it is smooth in function and relatively smooth in function. The grips are hand-filling and comfortable. One of the problems with the lightweight revolvers is recoil. The grips on the LCR are made to soak up a lot of that with a good amount of cushioning in the web area.
All in all it looks like a winner.
We have had both the LCR and the LCP in the shop lately, and they go out just as fast. Good values, good prices. If you are a Ruger fan or looking for something concealable, powerful and reliable, check em out.
A four inch barrel on a double action revolver seems to balance much better than a longer barrel.
Most concealed carry guns aren’t bothered by the longer barrel. I have a government 1911 that conceals as well as my Commander but the barrel is hidden by the Inside Waistband holster. The real problem is hidding the length of the butt. My little Officer’s sized Springfield Armory hides better than the rest. It’s on my profile page.
I hope you meant 25 YARDS. Don’t limit yourself to short distances with any handgun. You would be surprised what you can hit at ranges like 100 yards.
I have a friend that hits at ridiculous ranges. He casts his own bullets so he gets a better quality than I do. I would post what he has done but it wouldn’t be believed.
