As some of you may have noticed, recently the Republican Party has begun cracking down on the "birthers", realizing that openly supporting the most crazy members of your party is, well, problematic for appealing to non-crazy people. This, of course, leads to even more crazy, as they turn on their leaders for hiding the "truth". It's a drat shame to let all this crazy go to waste, when properly cultivated and raised it could be so much more.
So welcome to the first FreeRepublic Infiltration Contest! We're going to infiltrate freerepublic as agents provocateur. This can take several forms; post absurdly insane/racist/whatever drivel and see if you can get people to agree with it. See if you can start a new line of crazy (it might help to have some other people assisting you with this), start the next "Barak Obama is a secret muslim" "Clinton has had dozens of people killed" "let's start an eve online corporation dedicated to the principles of libertarianism, whoops mommy cut me off give me money for rent I can't survive on my own, whoops I stole everything that wasn't nailed down to ebay for rent since I can't survive in the real world, whoops people faxed pictures of my dick to my law firm LIBERTARIANISM FOREVER". It's probably unnecessary even to back up any claims with supportable facts - make them up. Hell, that you can find references elsewhere on the internet might make it seem sketchy to these people, just use the echo chamber effect.
To participate, you need to register your account with me beforehand - this is to prevent people from taking credit for just general-issue nutters. Do this by pm'ing the name to me (and preferably a link to the user profile), or emailing it to me at evilweasel@somethingawful.com. DO NOT POST IT IN THIS THREAD. There's a decent chance that someone will point this thread out to the freeper community, so we want as little information they can use in this thread. This offers another fun thing you can do: successfully convince the community to ban their own members who are not actually goons once they start witch-hunting. Fortunately since many people have made accounts to troll freerepublic in the past, only banning recent registrations won't help them. Also, it's probably best you not use links to free republic from here to get to the site in case they catch on and start looking at referrers to find the plants.
Winners will receive praise, adulation, and potentially fabulous prizes. Losers will bear the shame of being outwitted by the dumbest people on the internet. Screenshot successes and email them (and a link) to me. Since posting them might blow your cover, I'll be holding on to them for a month or two.
Marks of success: Getting non-goons banned as infiltrators Getting genuine posters to agree to the most absurd things possible Getting a sucessful chain email/conspiracy theory started ect Remember if you get caught you just got outwitted by the dumbest people on the internet.
ATTENTION: Do not do anything illegal or that would get the law involved, as hilarious as it might seem to get all of free republic arrested by the secret service you'll get swept up too and that'd really be a pain in the rear end for everyone so just don't do it. Do not break the law, it will neither be funny nor be rewarded, just don't do it.

Perhaps you could color-code posters who are either newly-registered or have under a threshold number of posts. This would make trolls easier to detect and reduce the waste of energy versus having to read a post first, become suspicious and then run a cursor over their name,

What I’d guess 95% of the SA.com users don’t know is that FreeRepublic.com has done significantly more to protect Fair Use copyright protections in the United States tahn the ownership and management of SA.com. As a matter of fact, SA.com management rolled over to the RIAA and MPAA immediately when served with cease and desist orders for the BTB NMP and WDMA subforums.
Year prior to that, Jim Robinson, and FR’s advisors, armed with a few good lawyers and the real monetary donations of Free Republic users, fought off egregious lawsuits brought against FreeRepublic by the LA Times and Washington Post. And FreeRepublic won, allowing forums like SA.com the Fair Use exemption that they use every moment of the day for their various media mashups. That is until Kankya gave in immediately to the RIAA cease and desist demands.
