From the BNO Newsroom.

NEW YORK CITY (BNO NEWS) — An American Airlines terminal at New York’s LaGuardia airport was evacuated on Saturday morning, officials told BNO News.

The evacuation was ordered around 6.15 a.m. local time when officers detained a suspicious person carrying a suspicious package, an official with the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Hundreds of people were seen outside the building as all flights were canceled at the airport. As of 7.30 a.m. local time, no planes were taking off and all incoming planes were being diverted.

The suspicious package is being investigated at this time.

This breaking news story will be updated.

La Guardia Evacuated

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities evacuated the main terminal at La Guardia airport Saturday morning.

The central terminal was evacuated after a man claimed to have an explosive device in his satchel.

The Port Authority tells 1010WINS the man is in custody - and that the Bomb Squad and Port Authority Police are investigating the man’s bag.

Flights into the airport were delayed or diverted Saturday morning. Check with your carrier if you are traveling from La Guardia.

When it turned out to be a Muzzie, President Obama said the FAA acted stupidly profiling the poor passenger. Now the FAA will have to go to the White House for a beer with Obama and the terrorist so they can agree to disagree.

Let’s hope that’s all it is. I doubt a real threater would boast such a claim.

Saturday MORNING"....apparently drunk man...."

Calls to mind the great line from Dean Martin...

Back in the 70’s you couldn’t greet a friend at an airport by saying “Hi Jack.”

LaGuardia Airport’s central terminal was evacuated Saturday morning because of a bomb square.

A police source said the scare started when passengers pointed out an apparently drunk man to cops in the terminal. When officers approached him, he said he had a bomb in his bag, a source said. There was a homemade device inside rigged up to look like a bomb, but it appears to be a fake.

While the NYPD Bomb Squad inspected the device, the terminal was evacuated.

La Guardia Evacuated

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) — Authorities say LaGuardia Airport’s main terminal was evacuated after a man came into the main terminal with a fake bomb in a bag.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman John Kelly says the airport’s main terminal was evacuated at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday after the man approached airport security in the airport’s C concourse.

It wasn’t clear if the man made a threat, but Kelly said security officials say he “was just acting crazy.’’

Police say the device in the man’s bag was a few batteries and wires, but was not dangerous.

Police were sweeping the main terminal and planned to open it by 9 a.m. Kelly said the C concourse, serving United, United Express and American Eagle airlines, would remain closed as a crime scene.

They probably don’t want to say too much just yet. Batteries and wires are part of any DVD player.

“Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman John Kelly says the airport’s main terminal was evacuated at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday after the man approached airport security in the airport’s C concourse.”

Ok, one report said he had a “bag with wires sticking out and batteries”. And this one says “(he) approached...security in...C concourse.” So how did he get thru all the metal detector thingees and get on concourse C?? Something’s not stacking up...

I guess you’re right — the re-run of last week’s interview with that Buttafuco woman is much more relevant and important than a possible threat to our security....

I stand corrected....

http://www.1010wins.com/LaGuardia-Bomb-Scare-Arrest/4918355

Authorities identified the man as Scott McGann, 32, of New York. He faces charges including making terroristic threats and placing a false bomb in a transportation facility. He had a ticket on a United Airlines flight that was headed to Chicago, with connecting flights that would have ultimately taken him to Oakland.

FNC is a lot of things, but an earnest news-gathering organization isn't one of them. It's all talk, all commentary, all the time. And, their morning shows border on juvenile - which is exactly the word that I would use to describe their website. It looks like a 15 year-old boy designed it. Their "Features & Faces" feature is nothing short of soft-core porn. I don't need to see bikini-clad women on a site where I rely on their professional standards to give me the latest news.

Sadly, they do. I actually like MSNBC much better, but I may have to go back to old standby CNN as MSNBC has really lost it lately.
