Video segment from Glenn Beck on Change Blindness. He claims Americans are currently suffering from Change Blindness due to the intentional rapidity and far ranging scope with which legislation is being proposed and enacted to change our country....

According to Wikipedia, "In visual perception, change blindness is the phenomenon that occurs when a person viewing a visual scene apparently fails to detect large changes in the scene. For change blindness to occur, the change in the scene typically has to coincide with some visual disruption such as a saccade (eye movement) or a brief obscuration of the observed scene or image. When looking at still images, a viewer can experience change blindness if part of the image changes."

Youtube has a bunch of change-blindness experiments. Very interesting.

One example of change-blindness I've had my eyes opened up to is the way the economy is reported.

Up until recently, whenever the weekly or monthly unemployment numbers were reported, it was followed by a quick update on the unemployment rate.

I've noticed over the last few weeks, though, that after the latest number is released, the state-run news reporter follows that up with, "but the overall number of unemployed has dropped."

Oh, really? Why did they change it to that? What happened to the updated unemployment rate? The last I heard, it was at 9.5%.

That was about a month ago. What is up to now?

The only place the economy was down and out was Detroit and the South Side of Chicago...soooooooooooo taking over the banks and then GM and deep sixing many distributors across the nation causing untold job loss, business loss; the ripple effect was to be expected sooooooooooooooo Obama and his 'people' harped on the baaaaaad economy....then they would throw the people a bone and say it had improved a teeny little bit.......then whoops, here we go again and we need even more money....whaaaaatttttt, like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself out by the handle (W. Churchill) and then, and then, it was those pesky banks and now it is those pesky insurance companies, all capitalist baddies..........Wake up America we have the Chicago Mob ruining America! Throw the Bum's OUT!
