Obama Joker Poster Popping Up In Los Angeles

Have you seen this poster?

Apparently, it's beginning to appear in odd places in Los Angeles, but nobody seems to know who's responsible for it.

Radio host Tammy Bruce posted some pictures of this odd creation at her blog Saturday morning (h/t Pamela Geller) leading me to investigate further.

At this point, all I could find on the subject was an April 25 article from Bedlam Magazine:

A poster of Barack Obama in Heath Ledger-style Joker make-up with the legend 'Socialism' beneath it has been popping up recently on surfaces around L.A. It does not appear to be in the same category as the many benign take-offs on the Shepard Fairey 'Hope' poster, such as the one by Australian James Lillis (more of a straightforward spoof that merely substituted a Shepardized image of Heath Ledger as Joker on the Obama poster).

BTW, I’ve noticed there are also lots of Anti-Mullah sidewalk stencils all over Hollywood as well. Very nicely done.

I don’t think it will work...this is not the right poster for that...no “N” words or negative slam that would outrage...they kinda make you think about poitics, not race...they are going to play the race card on the other side...and soon...I think they choked on Cambridge, but it shows they are ready to go there...I expect it just before mid-terms...

Very Shepard Fairey. Shepard became famous doing exactly this, starting a viral campaign with his “obey” works being printed and plastered up in cities all over.

In Portland Oregon, on election day, there thousands of posters that went up with Obama's mug with the word 'Obey' underneath. Needless to say it got about 20 seconds of media coverage.

I don’t think so. There are all kinds of political posters all over LA ... all of them from Liberals.
