A young Iranian soldier, arrested late last week for allegedly stealing weapons for opposition groups, was killed in custody and his body returned to his family on Saturday, sources in Teheran said.

The sources said the bodies of several dissidents, arrested in the course of anti-regime protests in Iran in recent weeks and evidently killed in detention, had also been returned to their families in the past few days.

Several of the bodies bore signs of beatings, the sources said.

It's just a matter of time before someone in the 0bama Administration figures out a way that it's Bush's fault!

From article:

“And I am positive that the government will do everything in its power to prevent word of this from coming out. They are afraid it will give people hope.”

The Jeannie is not going back in the bottle.

All that is missing is a single C-130 full of AK’s, ammo, and hand grenades. The assault would be on.

Shades of Eugene Hassenfuss.

The notorious section 209 of Tehran's Evin prison is really, really busy -- not since it was "home" to the Shah's folks 30 years ago has it been so busy.

the bodies of several dissidents, arrested in the course of anti-regime protests in Iran in recent weeks . . . bore signs of beatings, the sources said.

But it always seems to have plenty of vacancies.

They announced yesterday that they were releasing 17,000 prisoners out of 68,000 they had in jail.

Guess they are preparing.

The lid will blow off this soon.

You are correct, I learned something tonight. Not sure where I thought it was a C-130 from.

Was it Barry Seal’s plane?

C-123?? No, the other poster had it correct, a C-130. I have jumped out of enough of the damn things, trust me.

Seal used a lot of King Airs, but at one time owned a C123 (Fairchild Manf’d) for the longer - heavier runs.
Anyone around FR when his BIL jumped in to attack Terry Reed?

Never met Terry, but heard him several times and read his book 2nd week it was off press.

Talked with reporter in OKC who knew him well, we talked at length about it. Think he worked for KTOK, but not for sure. Jerry Bonan (unsure about spelling, been many years)

The young man, who was drafted into the military after he graduated from secondary school, had been accused of supplying guns to opposition forces.

"I sympathize for the family," the source said. "He was very brave for what he was trying to do. And I am not surprised that such activity is going on. I have heard rumors of an active underground that has been building up in other cities."

Too bad he couldn't be saved through Christ 1st (AFAIK), but a patriot that sacrifices himself to spare his countrymen from evil is a blessed and honorable thing, so I respect that greatly, and hope he is rewarded, or at least remembered.

I also hope he absconded with truckloads of his country's captor's weapons and aerates many turbans with 'em

Am soon to be 62 and too old for such stuff, but wished I could help them. Have told my friends in Iran that.

But all I can do is pray for them. I have been thanked may times for that. Ultimately God is in control from here.

I'm sure many prayed for someone to stand up to the murderous repression, I know I have.

These prayers were answered, and they will be answered much more.

Like you said, God IS in control.
