That’s totally opposite to the way that I read Saturday WSJ article!

MaCain said that the porkulas bill was a waste of time and money; that congress continues to lard up all bills, that the horrifying deficits could sink this ship; that the cap and tax bill was passed in the middle of the night without anyone knowing what’s in it.

I hope that McCain lets the Seattle paper better understand the terrifying road that these Socialists are taking this country!

Agree. Shut McCain up and no more press conferences. This ‘K*ss *ss’ state of affairs and making nicey niecy has got to stop.

It seems like no politicians (at least those being heard and printed in the paper) talk truth any more.

I swear McLame received too many blows to the head in that N. Vietnam prison camp. What recovery? Until unemployment numbers start really going down, not just rising more slowly, not just ticking down because of bogus census jobs, the economy will not get better. Why oh why did the GOP run this man as their candidate? It's thanks to him that we have to refer to Lord Zero as president Barry 0bama.

Although a war hero, McCain was not equipped to distinguish between the principles that would keep America free and prosperous and the false premises that will enslave her. Accommodating tyranny by failing to call it what it is is dangerous. We need a leader whose words are strong and courageous and based in the principles of our Declaration of Independence.

American citizens need to wake up to the counterfeit ideas and false "hopes" offered by politicians who use "promises," just as the rest of us use "currency."

They buy votes with "promises" in order to gain power to themselves and their ilk. Then, when "hopes" are dashed, "the people" they have promised to help (the naive, the poor, the ignorant--even the "educated" who are ignorant of liberty vs. tyranny) find themselves enslaved, working for those who have purchased their power in the most despicable manner--by offering "hope and change." Thus it has ever been.

The people who founded America were not so "dumbed down." Hear two of them:

"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties. We hold this prudent jealousy to be the first duty of citizens and one of the noblest characteristics of the Revolution. The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle [usurpation of power] and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle. We revere this lesson too much . . . to forget it." - James Madison

" . . . nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers, and destroyers press upon them so fast, that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon the American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour. The revenue creates pensioners, and the penshioners urge for more revenue. The people grow less steady, spirited, and virtuous, the seekers more numerous and more corrupt, and every day increases the circles of their dependents and expectants, until virtue, integrity, public spirit, simplicity, and frugality, become the objects of ridicule and scorn, and vanity, lusury, foppery, selfishness, meanness and downright venality swallow up the whole society." - John Adams

Further, it was not just the founding leaders who were well-informed about their constitution and approaching threats to its protections. By the Year 1830, when the French jurist Tocqueville traveled America, he wrote admiringly of the citizenry, observing that even the backwoodsman was far more well-read and informed than those in other parts of the world, and that they understood their Constitution, and had with them a Bible and a newspaper. Sadly, beginning in the mid-20th Century, our "government" schools removed the ideas of liberty from the nation's textbooks, largely under the guise of a counterfeit idea of "separation of church and state," and the citizenry is uninformed as to the difference between tyranny and liberty.

Today, with all modern means of communication, Americans possess little understanding of threats to their liberty and, thus, risk losing it to charlatans whose only goal is power.

It was personally this man’s stance on the OPEN BORDERS way back when Rudy the transvestite was in the lead for the Republican nomination.

He wanted his birth citizens to obtain citizenship instead of guarding the borders and here we were in a war over there so they wouldn’t be over here. Since he wasn’t worried about the open borders then I started my reseach and found that yea, maybe this guy KNEW more than he’s letting you believe.

For the mess we are in I fault the media, McCain, our corrupt legislators that had the power to do something and didn’t. Then I fault Obama, he did what he did because he COULD and those that we really put our trust in FAILED us.

This should have had a "MSLEADING TITLE ALERT".

The title completely takes McCain's words out of context.

"And I'll be glad to give him credit for that. But the question that I think we should be asking are the long term consequences of this unprecedented debts and deficits — are they beneficial to the country? And I think the answer is no."

Then why did McCain suspend his campaign last autumn to go vote for the bailouts?

All this goes to show is that McCain is a naïve moron and a loose cannon for the GOP.

People need to realize that this war is about MONEY. We generate the money and keep them in place to hold order. If they have corrupted the order, we better have the strength to finish their game, join together. You do not have the muscle power to overcome them, but you control the archile’s heel, their money and resources. Get your head around that, YOU HAVE THEIR POWER and it really is time for people to use that power.
