surprised?
what about George Soros?
The Germans only truly became a world power when they united under Chancellor Bismark. Before that, the most powerful of the German principalities was indeed Prussia, but Prussia was still not able to successfully conquer the other great European nations alone. They had to always rely on their many treaties with other countries such as Austria and Russia.
The funny thing about Napolean, time and again he was able to beat the Austrians, Prussians and Russians in battle. Yet the only two times he personally faced the English (Egypt and in Belgium) he went down to humiliating defeat. The Iberian Peninsular wars were of such minor consequence to him, he never got personally involved.
The Holy Roman Empire predated Bismarck.
True, but as far as I know, the holy Roman Empire was scarcely able to act as a whole (or even taxate everyone correctly, which I guess is a good indicator for the power of a central government) most of the time.
Here’s a pic of the Marder by the way:

Grouchy, the Prussian IV Corps, inclement weather helped the defeat.
Nelson did not really engage the French army. I cannot recall a battle with the English army in Egypt to Acre.
I have no excuses for the Russian invasion. What was he thinking.
I have been to his tomb in Paris, the captured flags are on display.
Nelson didn’t have to engage the French Army. He wiped out Napolean’s navy at the Nile and then starved them of supplies. Rather than stay for the defeat, Napolean fled and let his other Generals take the defeat, but the defeat was Napoleans.
It sure looks like one.
I thought we didn’t like wikipedia around here
Not surprised!
Hey newbie troll, STFU. Go do your Mein Kampfing somewhere else.
This was an interesting vehicle and they should have given it some traverse on the turret, it would have been much more devastating.
The Bradley is not a tank but it is an armored infantry fighting vehicle. I think the Bradley and the other vehicles of that type serve a purpose and are much needed. Thanks for your service
Whatever I said to you yesterday, I appologize. You are correct about the alcohol, I seldom drink at all anymore but a friend of mine came over and he brought some Sam Adams with him, I drank to many. Once again, Sorry.
Neat utube color video of WW II German panzers at work:
Interesting how much the German helmet of WW II looks like the current U.S. Army helmet.
I sure hope they are up for the job and come home safe.
Does anyone know if the Bundeswehr already has the Panzerhaubitze 2000 in Afghanistan? Probably the wrong tool for this mission, but imo one of the best German military developments of the past years. The Taliban don’t seem to like the PzH 2000 too much, they call them “the beasts of Tarin Kowt”.
Seems that the PzHs have trouble with the dust in Afghanistan though.
A mark of high character to publicly apologize. Let me commend you for doing so. Some of the comments didn’t seem in keeping with your usual posts. May our future exchanges be pleasant.
I hope this is an elite unit. The German Army I saw in NATO were total yutzes who looked like unmade beds.
