North of Tiburon Island and near Kino Bay. Immediate area has low population but homes of questionable construction.

It sure is located right where you would expect a big quake. Prayers.

Wow... that’s really some shaking going on. A big quake in Baja could do literally hundreds of dollars in damage!

This just isn’t news until you include...

“Third world nations and poor hardest hit.”

There, now this is a genuine newsworthy report.

Quite a bit north of Cabo and right on the mid-gulf plate margin fault, Baja is coming North. I don't know the likelihood of a tsunami but it is probably all on a slip fault but could have triggered an adjacent thrust or reverse fault. Also not that big for a big wave formation.

I have never been to Santa Isabell but Hermosillo is relatively close with poorly constructed barrios.

Maybe, there was a 3.9 that hit Devore on Sat. Maybe the precursor?

This looks to me like these earthquakes are on the San Andreas fault. Ref. http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/earthq3/where.html

Nonetheless, this is nothing compared to what’s predicted for the San Andreas fault, that “ ... fifteen million years hence, because of the imperceptible creep of coastal California along the San Andreas fault, the Santa Monica Freeway in Los Angeles will run directly into the San Francisco Bay Bridge as the City of Angels migrates northward.” Ref: http://www.amazon.com/Darwins-Ghost-Origin-Species-Updated/dp/0375501037
