SkyNet runs amok!

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles are sort of “future history”.

What the heck, we already have those in Washington, D.C. What they regularly do each day endangers us.

Yet another original Star Trek episode becoming reality. A Taste of Armageddon featured two neighboring planets waging war entirely by computer play. When a computer-simulated attack succeeded, people who were in the locale of the successful attack were directed to walk into disintegration chambers since they were declared dead. This had been going on for 500 years...

...military killer robots that think for themselves...

Conservatives probably don't need to worry. At least not until the robots run out of liberals.

Meanwhile, killer robots around the world are saying the British should start thinking for themselves again for once.

Last time I checked, none of these things are “thinking” for themselves. Most are remotely operated. UCAVs might start delivering weapons to targets selected by their operators.

Some of the global warmongers will peel off and hijack this issue as another way to hurt the USA. We need autonomous robot technology to pay for socialism. The military usually drives the "cutting edge" because they are the only one at first that can afford it, then the prices come down. Japan is the leader in robotics however they are prevented from developing military weapons because of WWII. It's up to the US Military to drive this. UK robotics professors are not a factor.

One UAV the article mentions is the Israeli Harpy anti-radar UAV. The Harpy proceeds to the target area and loiters there looking for enemy radar signatures. When it spots one, it attacks on its own.

Sounds a good job for robots to me! I sure wouldn’t want to loiter in an airspace with heavy air defense coverage, even if I were “stealthy.”
