So, will Arlen go indy if he loses this primary???

I'll guess no, but you can never tell. Say what you want about him, he fights. Often dirty, but he fights.

Sestak is a retired Navy Admiral and a populist candidate.

He's also as charismatic as a wet Dorito. And a nasty SOB to boot.

Good thing for him, PA voters are some of the dimmest bulbs in the country.

If I remember right, every time something went wrong, he completely blamed his staff. Not much of a leader, but that is just me.

"and it may actually lose even more."

That may be true in the Senate, but not in the House. The Senate, just through happenstance retirements of GOP Senators in states that voted for Obama last year, sets up very well for the Dems. Even if the GOP has a great year in 2012, they aren't going to pick up more than 4 seats. If they manage keep the status quo, it wouldn't be a horrible outcome. If Obama rebounds in the polls somehow, the GOP could actually lose a handful of Senate seats.

The house, on the other hand, will probably be looking at a swing in favor of the GOP by 25, or more seats. Not enough to dethrone Nancy, but it will become that much more difficult for her to pass legislation. I would add, it might serve Republicans well not to dethrone Nancy next year. With Pelosi at speaker, it makes it impossible for Obama to run against a Republican bogeyman leading up to 2012. The unintended consequence of Newt Gingrich (and his successful Contract with America), was the reelection of Bill Clinton. We want to get rid of Obama, much more than we need to take back the house next year.

Ol’ Spectre did indeed get a promise from Obama and the Party establishment that he would get their full support.

It’s just that recent events make it very clear that Spectre is electoral cold dead meat. So why waste time and money on him?

Change of plans.

Whoa Army Guy! Sestak is well-known around Navy circles and he is WIDELY disliked. He was fired by Mullen (first thing Mullen did as CNO) and is thought to be certifiable by most Nav personnel who have worked for him. When he first ran for congress, the saying around the Navy was let’s move to the district so we can all vote against him.

i wonder if old arlen got a promise from barack that he would clear the field for him??

Not sure what kind of commitment Snarlin' Arlen got from Obama, but he did get a promise from Rendell and Casey that changing to Democrat party would grease his path with $, party and union backing, etc. Sestak is on his own, unable to receive endorsements, etc., but he may pull off an upset in the primary even with the deck stacked against him just because he isn't Specter.

Arlen ran last time and won easily as a Republican against a Democrat with no $, no party endorsement, etc. because he got Rendell and the union's backing. All he had to do was get Bush and the Republicans to save him from Toomey in the primary. This election, there was no Republican president to save him from Toomey, so he changed parties.

PA doesn't have two parties, just one Republicrat party, and Arlen is their "boy." If they can drag him past Sestak to the general election, he will likely be an easy winner in the fall because Toomey will get zilch from the Republicrats and will be on his own.

Perhaps, ODH, perhaps.
But, irrespective of who or what party is enthroned in the coming year, if the GOP does not pick up a viable number to stop this agenda cold then the damage will be permanently done, and I can clearly see that these fundamental policies that are the handouts and redistribution of wealth will never be reversed, which is why they are being rammed through with great haste in the first place.

Soon, it will be all over and we will see what happens then.

Who gives a damn which party selects the drapes in DC when Amnesty is passed and universal single payer health care is entrenched forever?
Kiss the underlying concept of America goodbye. - I am preparing plans for my children to grow up in another country.
I have already gone Galt.

Thank you for your post.

Are you talking about Sestak? I saw him on Greta tonight and couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. He is totally sold out to BO and the Marxist agenda ... and with a big ear-to-ear smile, too.
