Sestak made it official this morning. May they both gut each other like fish.

Go Pat Toomey.

Once Sphincter realizes the 2010 elections will be a landslide for the GOP, he will switch back just in time to eliminate Toomey.

Just a prediction.

> the 2010 elections will be a landslide for the GOP...

I wish that becomes fact, but for now, its just a wish.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for it.

The GOP has been staggering around, lurching from one disaster to another, looking for all the world like a 3 day dead stiff looking for a hole to fall in.

and it may actually lose even more.

A friend of mine who lived in Erie, PA once told me a funny story about a guy who tried to walk across the frozen lake in the winter by carrying a 12 foot pole and continually tapping the ice out 12 feet ahead of him. If the ice broke, he’d turn and try a different direction.

The rescue squad found him floating on a circle of ice, 24 ft. in diameter, in the middle of Lake Erie.

That pretty much sums up what Specter has done to himself politically.

This is not good for Toomey. Sestak is a retired Navy Admiral and a populist candidate. He would be harder for Toomey to beat than Arlen.

Specter is a gutless tool for libs.

Sestak voted for cap and trade, is pro-abortion, and supported the stimulus. Big-time liberal. There is nothing populist about him, and voters aren’t going to care about his military record. Toomey is a fiscal conservative and that will play well.

Sestak is a retired Navy Admiral and a populist candidate.

Sestak has a record now and it's as liberal as you can get. Also he can't run on solving the problem since he is part of it now.

And he shouldn't expect much help from Rendell.

And finally he cannot count on the feds pulling an election-eve raid on Toomey.

It's not a shoe-in for Toomey regardless of who wins the Dem Primary, but I don't know that Sestak would be harder to beat than Arlen.

Anyway, may they both gut each other like fish.

That’s too bad. IMO, Specter is much more beatable than Sestak would be. Maybe they can beat each up enough that neither will be electable come the general election.

He did, but apparently nobody told the State Rats, or else they just didn't care about Obama's deal.

Another possibilty: Sphincter will leave the Democrat Party. Run for re-election as an Independent. Then you would have a three way race between Sphincter, Sestak, and Toomey. 2 libs vs 1 conservative giving Toomey the advantage.

You are correct, but he is bucking their party establishment and voters in PA will view him as a “populist. Arlen is digging himself such a hole that I think Sestak will beat him. If unemployment is at double digits around election time in 2010, Toomey wins. If things improve, Sestak will be a tough candidate to beat in that State.
