I wish they would. The only thing that shocks me is that Utah is not number one. I would have guessed that state if I was on Who Wants to be a Millionaire or Jeopordy or something like that.

All good Red States, sans NC (how the hell did Zero win there?)

Only one blue state on the list. North Carolina is the only blue state listed. I think that is telling. Red States are very religious or at least most moral.

“(how the hell did Zero win there?)”

Most of the cities are infested with liberals. (I think Charlotte is the exception)

North Carolina is the only blue state listed.

I am not yet ready to concede N. Carolina as a blue state.

I wish they had included the rest of the list.

The strange thing is Utah did not even make the top 10 list. Which leads me to suspect the accuracy of this poll.

I would guess Vermont is in the list.

I wouldn’t count NC as a “blue state” - not quite yet anyway. It would be as “red” as the rest of the South were it not for a few cities like Asheville, Greensboro and Chapel Hill.

I would rather not, but the only reason I think it is a “blue” state is because it has two Democratic Senators AND voted for Obama. If they had only voted for Obama than I would not call them a blue state because it was a weird election cycle, but those senators is what bothers me.

This is an old story; they took this poll back in January.

Racism, that’s how. By that I mean, voting for a candidate solely because of the color of his skin rather than the content of his character.

My thinking exactly. What happened to the normally sensible NC? And Indiana and Virginia for that matter?

This is mentioned in the link I posted:

Newport was surprised that one state — Utah — did not make the "most religious" list, given the state's large Mormon population.

"They apparently have two kinds of people in the state," he said. "They have the very religious and devout Mormon population but it also looks like they have a lot of nonreligious people."

Surprised West Virginia didn’t make the list. Churches are popular here.

Voted McCain/Palin.
