Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell will deliver the Republican response to President Barack Obama's weekly radio address this Saturday. House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio designated McDonnell as the responder yesterday.
McDonnell, a former state attorney general, said he will focus his remarks on the need for new jobs and opportunities in Virginia and the nation. The designation brings a national focus to the McDonnell campaign in the same week that Obama is coming to Virginia to stump for state Sen. R. Creigh Deeds of Bath County, the Democratic candidate for governor. The president will be the headliner at a rally for Deeds at 7 p.m. today in McLean...

I wish him well. Need a big VA turn out to deal with the northern VA turnout for him to win. Too many rats in northern VA.
On the other hand you won't have McCain disappointing people and depressing the turnout, or Obama energizing his base and increasing that turnout. It's important to flip at least the governorship back to the GOP or else Virginia could be lost for good.
Hey Freepers, McDonnell/Bolling/Cuccinelli need money, money, money. We know the rats are well funded and will bring out the big guns at the end of the summer, help our great VA candidates now.
McDonnell has a 14% advantage over Deeds in the polls right now, but the election is still months away. I will remain cautiously optimistic.
I’d like to encourage everyone to tune in. McDonnell is one of the most impressive Republicans I’ve seen in a long time.
If Deeds is dumb enough to appear outside NOVA with BO at his side then that is a plus for McDonnell. Bambi is losing support big time in the Old Dominion, the latest PPP poll confirms this. As BO’s approval numbers and his government run healthcare proposals falter McDonnell’s numbers rise. I hear Bambi’s numbers have also tanked in NC and FL, and we already know about his dismal numbers in OH.
Yeah, I’ll feel much better if he still has that 14% advantage in September.
Unfortunately, this is happening today in NOVA, deep Gerald Connolly country.

It’s so exciting for McDonnell to be given this national stage already. I hope he’s working with Hillary’s voice coach!
At first I thought it said “McConnell” and was like “Ew!” But this is much better. I like McDonnell.
McDonnell is a great candidate, and a rising star in the GOP.
