Statement from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on the Republican Party and Allied Groups' Mob Rule
The Republicans and their allied groups - desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill - are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists funded by K Street Lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of health care in America taking place in Congressional Districts across the country.
However, much like we saw at the McCain-Palin rallies last year where crowds were baited with cries of 'socialist,' 'communist,' and where the birthers movement was born - these mobs of extremists are not interested in having a thoughtful discussion about the issues - but like some Republican leaders have said - they are interested in 'breaking' the President and destroying his Presidency.
These mobs are bussed in by well funded, highly organized groups run by Republican operatives and funded by the special interests who are desperately trying to stop the agenda for change the President was elected to bring to Washington. Despite the headline grabbing nature of these angry mobs and their disruptions of events, they are not reflective of where the American people are on the issues - or the hundreds of thousands of thoughtful discussions taking place around kitchen tables, water coolers and in homes.
He's got some good ideas there...I haven't seen or heard of anyone using them, though...

I just want to let you know what I think of your arrogance, sending out the sort of press release you just did regarding the efforts of honest citizens to ask about and protest government controlled health care. I’m 55 years old, have a wife, a daughter, and two elderly parents. All of them—and many other people I talk to are extremely concerned that they will lose the benefits and convenience of their current health insurance—if not now, then at some point in the future. Instead of listening to honest concerns, you want to shove this down our throats and tell us we’d all better love it, or else we’re somehow shills of the insurance industry. What drugs are you on?!!!

I just called my reps office.
I asked the woman who answered if she had heard about how scary the town hall meetings are getting.
I told her I was very alarmed that union thugs beat up a guy who was just passing out flags.
I asked her if she knew who was sending these union thugs in.
She didn’t know anything. All she could tell me was that both sides were awful.
I asked if the conservative side had beat anyone up. I’m sure if one of us did, the media would totally melt down.
All she could say was that both sides were awful.
I asked if she’d seen any news on this, or seen any videos.
She said it’s not her job to do that during business hours.
Fair enough. I guess when she gets her gubmint check & goes home, she doesn’t care what goes on.
