Our FR banqueteers will have ringside seats when the talk show star of radio station WOR, New York, steps up to our freeper microphone! Here some little excerpted peeks into the musings emanating from his consideral cerebral power:
STEVE (on watching a Little League game on the Fourth of July): "As I watched my son holding his sparkler, I suddenly cringed as a wave of panic swept through my mind and body. You see, I know too much, and the others, most Americans, not enough.
"As I looked at my son and his buddies, I couldn't help but fear for their futures - and my future, and the future of our great nation."
STEVE (on Obama): "As America celebrated her birthday, the man sitting in the White House was busy plotting his course in his quest to fundamentally change our nation, our policies - both foreign and domestic - and by doing so, our cherished way of life."
STEVE (on unemployment): "I looked around at the parents of the kids on the baseball team and wondered just how many of them - of us, really - may be among the next batch of the half million Americans who are losing their jobs each month. I wondered how many of us would eventually be unable to give our kids summer baseball, summer camp, a bike, a video game......once (Obama's) taxes start to kick in.
"If Mr. Obama succeeds, look for the unemployment rate to soar through double digits. This is what he wants. He has already DESTROYED untold wealth in this country. All his new taxes will nearly complete his mission. What is the mission? To force as many of us as possible to turn to the government for our very survival. That's what Mr. Obama is advocating. That's who he is."
STEVE (on terrorism, apologies, the essence of our nation): "Are we prepared to have our children's lives put at risk by a president who no longer sees a 'war on terror'? Are we prepared for a president who tours the world assuring one and all that there is nothing special about the United States, that we have a tarnished history and that we are JUST ANOTHER ONE OF MANY nations?
"Are we prepared to tell our kids that Mr. Obama was correct when he told the Muslim world that we are NOT a nation of Christians, Jews and Muslims, but rather a nation of CITIZENS?
"I bet the parents in my little town of Fair Lawn, New Jersey would say, 'No' to this and 'No' to Mr. Obama's vision of America.
"IF ONLY THEY KNEW WHAT HIS VISION IS!"

Grab off your room at the Sheraton NOW. The hotel holds our reserved block of discounted rooms for only so long. For events such as conventions, ALL hotels have a cut-off date for discounted rooms and they don't fool around.
If you're getting a group together and they're sitting around waiting for Godot, shake their bootys and tell them to get their room orders in NOW....fer heaven's sake.
Heaven can wait, but not our room availabilities! DC will be jumpin' that weekend!

I just tried to make reservations at the Sheraton and it said no rooms were available! Is that true or are they having problems with their site again?
Okay, since the web site for the hotel said it was sold out, I called them this morning and spoke to someone in sales. She said they were adding more rooms to the block, and she went ahead and took my reservation. Whew! I was really sweating it there! So if anyone else has trouble with the website, call the hotel directly.
We have had nothing but problems with these reservations since day one - and you’re just more proof of it.
Glad you got through though. They’re telling us we have NOT met our quota but telling those who call for reservations that they are full.
I”m not a happy Freeper right now!!!

I heard from four Freepers who have called the Sheraton and made sure their check out date was changed from 9/12 to 9/13 or later. They certainly were not planning on checking out on 9/12!
