The so-called public option is a hot topic of debate at town hall meetings across the country. Supporters say it's needed to keep private insurance companies in check and extend affordable coverage to all. Critics warn that the government should not have so much control over health care and that a public option could eventually eliminate private insurance.

Hmmm... Maybe this is just a problem that need several months and decent people to determine the best approach. It certainty is NOT a time to pass bills (unread) and try to figure it all out later...
Unfortunately, our wonderful Representatives (both parties) like to pass legislation first and figure it out later. No reason to determine the effects until after the next election ya know...
I long for the time that working representatives went to Congress (with first hand knowledge of the world) and pass laws that they actually agreed with and obeyed themselves. Those were the days...

We need to be on the lookout for incrementalism!! If they can’t shove it down our throats all at once, they’ll look to do it piecemeal!! The federal government should stay the hell out of healthcare.
Let the voters of each state decide on their own proposals. None of us is wise enough to know what the right solution is a priori. The states can serve as evolving laboratories of the various ideas. It will be much easier to then undo those that don’t work. If we pass this mostrosity at the federal level it will be next to impossible to eliminate later. That’s what they are counting on.
Kill the bill. Tort reform NOW!!!
If you want to insure the uninsured, then insure them. Give them the money.
Leave our healthcare alone.

What the Dems are now doing is setting the stage for “Obamacare Light.” Obamacare Light will not fix healthcare. It will only sabotage the current healthcare
system more than they already have sabotaged it, and that will set the stage for a complete nationalization in the next Congress, as the Dems argue more persuasively that the system is broken. They will be right, of course, but what will be omitted is that they are to blame.
And so is the Grand Canyon. Senator Durbin ought to drop in.

I seriously think this is where “health” reform is going—it was even hinted to me by a Hill intern that HR 3200 “isn’t the bill that’s going to pass” — although it’s the one all the “town halls” are about — there is another bill out there, that the “common folk” aren’t going to get a look at and it will pass the first day Congress is back in session whether we the people like it or not.

We want the same health insurance that the vultures in DC have. They want to force mandated insurance down our throats, like Romney’s disaster.
Without denying its smoke and mirrors I have been wondering how far over the cliff the current democrat leadership can take the party before other voices dethrone them from leadership.
