Today's Virginian-Pilot included a helpful editorial on the support cap issue: http://hamptonroads.com/print/519013
Please read and distribute this editorial.
VEA is sponsoring a rally on this issue on August 19th, at the Bell Tower in Capitol Square, at 1 p.m. Some of you may have received messages from others stating that the time of the rally is 1:30. That is not correct. The time is 1 p.m.
Thank you, Robley Jones VEA GR
That’s the same day Kaine is announcing the revenue forecasts and that the “shortfall” will be somewhere between $700 million and $1.5 billion.
Good luck with yer rally...
How come governors never announce cost-cutting measures like laying off everyone in the school district with the term “deputy assistant” in their job title?

Well, quite seriously because he wouldn’t have that authority at the local level. He could cut the funding to a certain point (beyond 15% he needs General Assembly approval) but he couldn’t control local decisions.
But, he’s said he’d offer his plans to cut the budget by Labor Day. There ~will~ be layoffs.
