The Silverton, Oregon, city council has censured its transgender mayor.
Mayor Stu Rasmussen admitted to wearing an open-back bathing suit, mini skirt, and high heels when he spoke before a group of children at a non-profit organization. A person attending the speech was displeased and filed a complaint.
Andrea Lafferty is with the Traditional Values Coalition. "This is a man who's dressing like a woman. He was born a man. He has male DNA. That cannot change," she believes.
Lafferty says the idea of making the appearance in front of children is an affront to parents who do not want their children exposed to deviant lifestyles. She encourages people to challenge the mayor's behavior.
Andrea Lafferty (Traditional Values Coalition) "People shouldn't be intimidated. I think it's great that people are objecting. I think it's great that they pushed the city council to vote, even if it was just to say that the man was dressed inappropriately," she notes. "He needs to behave, particularly around children. He should be kept away from kids."

Well. Maybe it is time for the good people to start thinking of whips, stocks, pillories, tar, feathers and a rail. Why do we have to put up with their pathology? Let them put up with us. Degenerates!

His Wiki bio:
Stu Rasmussen (born 1948) is an American politician from the state of Oregon. He was reported to be the nation's first openly transgender mayor when he was elected as the mayor of Silverton, Oregon in November 2008.[1][2] He had previously been elected twice in the 1990s as mayor of this Willamette Valley community, before coming out as transgender.[3] He was also three times a member of the city council.[4]
Rasmussen, a self-described fiscal conservative and social liberal,[4][2] served as city councilor until January 2009.[5]

Diversity is one thing we are not lacking these days, Tact and Decency is something we are running out of.
I don’t care if they change their gender, if they pay for it themselves, if they treat others with decency and respect the sensibilities of others, if they use some tact when dealing with others. They can do whatever they want int heir own house, but for crying out loud this Schmuck’s behavior is horrible and sets a very bad example.
This behavior would have been bad even for a real woman of the same age for crying out loud.

To: IbJensen
"This is a man who's dressing like a woman. He was born a man. He has male DNA. That cannot change," she believes. She "believes," mind you. There is no truth. There is only "belief," which really means "preference." And since her "preference" is exclusionary, it's clearly hate-speech.
It all stems from the rejection of absolutes. "There are no absolutes!" they whine. My I suggest, if you're having trouble getting your head around "absolutes," you aim your car -- the car you believe you are driving -- at a solid highway overpass pillar? Just to see, mind you, if it's "absolute" or not. Get that speedometer cranked up when you do, dipshit.
You might even help save the planet it the process.
To: Callahan
If he wants to dress this way he should do it at home, not in front of Children, but then transexual people can teach, your kid has a female teacher last year this year she is a he.
The character in Oregon has a girl friend, wow, maybe she dresses as a guy??

She is transgendered, I don’t see a problem with that. It happens to some people in life, and when it does it’s unpleasant for everybody until they get themselves sorted. It is probably better for everybody concerned that she acts in the gender role she believes is appropriate.
It becomes troublesome when transgendered people *don’t* do this.
Lo-back top, mini-skirt, hi-heels: that would probably have been inappropriate for any she-male or female to wear in front of kids. She was a fool to do this and it is fair-and-square that she has attracted negative attention to herself. Hopefully she’ll know better for next time.

I saw this story on the local Denver news while vacationing in Beeber Creek, CO last week. The way it was presented was that the townsfolk were concerned that the mayor's attire was too skimpy. Skirt was too short, I believe.
Soooo....
Male mayor in skirt = good
Male mayor in short skirt = bad
Hello, is anyone home???

I’d be willing to guess that she probably won’t expose herself to kids. There would be a greater risk of that sort of thing happening if she hadn’t gotten herself “sorted”.

I don’t agree with the censuring. People should be able to wear whatever they want. This is a slippery slope to telling people what they can and cannot wear.
I agree his appearance would probably be offensive to me and I wouldn’t want my children around it, but it is my responsibility to keep myself or my children away from such scenes ... or not.
This event was not mandatory for children to attend. Parents who are upset should address their concerns to the non-profit organization who invited the mayor to speak in front of children.
Boycotting is a better statement of disaproval.

He’s not transgendered . . . He had himself mutilated . . . Every one of every gene in his body is still that of when he was born . . . “transgendered” just can’t be done. Self-mutilation, yes! He needs severe psychological help and prayers, but our society is telling him/her/it that it’s ok . . . we’re nutz . . . he/she/it’s not.

If you’re dressing like that, the object is to get attention ... whether you’re transgendered or not.
For attention seekers, getting all this attention is will only encourage them to be more outrageous.

To be honest, the trannies that look like Barney Fife in a skirt don't scare me near as much as the ones that actually pass for female. This dude famously got his banana hammock past the James Bond casting department.
