WASHINGTON (CNN) – The first primary contest of the 2012 election cycle is more than two years away, but some Republicans are already voting … sort of.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee — which assists GOP Senate candidates — e-mailed a "Proxy Ballot" to some supporters on Monday asking them which Republican leader is their top choice for the Republican presidential nomination. The survey also asks Republicans to rank the importance of issues like health care, abortion rights and taxes.

So who did the NRSC pick as the Republican favorites? Twelve names appear on the ballot...Sen. John McCain...former Massachusetts Mitt Romney.

No and no.

Guess they are still not going to pull their heads out of their nether regions. Good grief. I guess a 2 X 4 is just too small these days.

Jeeez. Didn’t they learn anything?

Why don’t they just offer up Ron Paul and finish off the party?

How many states have stopped their open primaries? We have to do this at the state level apparently, call your state conservative leaders if you have open primaries and tell them to get them closed.

McCain?? Romney? AGAIN?

Uh, no?

Both of those FOOLS need to just go wither away in some old folks home so they can do no further damage to either Congress or the States. Better still, a straitjacket in an asylum may be nice (i.e. Jim Carrey/Riddler/long sleeves spanking McCain)

good idea, that is something an old lady with a phone and computer can do.....:O)

But I think a large percent of republican are stupid...with that I will exclude most rank and file....Its the Washington republ. that are stupid...and some rank and file republicans. What else would account for Lindsey Gramnisty's reelection to the senate last year...I'd rather vote for a semi conservative democrat than Gramnisty.

yes. me too. though in that cae I’d stay home and play solitaire

I am definitely going to be contacting my state rep and sentaor about it. I don’t know why independents can vote in the GOP primary but they can. In some states they let Democrats do it, which is even worse.

The only one's on that list worth my vote is #1 #7 #9

Sent a email to my niece that works and lives in Mississippi and ask her opinion of Barbour...She gave him a 10, low taxes, common sense policies...A conservative. That jives with my opinion of him years back when he was the the head of the Repulican party...use to listen to him destroy the dem's on T.V. shows..Calls them as he see them. sSmart, articulate and conservative...also clean.:O)

Although I usually vote Republican, I haven’t been a member of their party since Hillary Care. That woman was scary..but got too disgusted with the Republicans after a couple of years....I am conservative first, Republican second.

Haley Barbour #1(haven’t heard anything negative; he refused stimulus money, he is pro gun, enacted a “workfare” policy, balanced the budget, cut taxes, opposed racial quotas, enacted the toughest abortion laws in the country, reduced the number of meth labs, and enacted strict tort reform
Ron Paul #10(supported him last time)

This is Cornyn’s baby.

He didn’t lift a finger to give consequences to the three amigos in the Senate who voted for Porkulus.

Nothing. Not a warning, not taking away a committee position.

So, I’m not surprised that McCain is on his ballot.
Also note in the article it specifically claims that the NRSC sent out ballots to “some” members.

LMAO. That is almost up there with the Union thugs intimidating protesters.

Why is Jindal on this NRSC list? His parents weren’t citizens when he was born here, so he’s not a natural-born citizen (only a natural-born citizen is eligible for the Presidency). I don’t get it.
