White House 'Reality Check’ Web Site Claims Health Care Reform ‘Would Not Add One Penny to Deficit’ Despite CBO Reports to Contrary

CNSNews.com) – A new Web site launched Monday by the Obama administration to rebut alleged disinformation about the administration's efforts to reform the health care system claims that reform “would not add one penny to the deficit"--despite the fact that the two health care reform bills that have been analyzed by the Congressional Budget Office are predicted by the CBO to increase the national debt by $239 billion and $1.042 trillion respectively.

The administration, meanwhile, has not produced any health-care reform legislation that has been independently determined to be deficit-neutral.

Appearing on CNN yesterday, Linda Douglass, communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform, said that the new Web site that premiered today has been designed to defeat disinformation and make sure people "can get the facts" about health care reform.

LIARS all. Just as Obama's claim he isn't out to destroy private health insurance when The HC act bill says otherwise on Page 16 and 17 under "Protecting the (so called) choice to keep current coverage".(if a series of impossible conditions are met)

Hidden away in this list of conditions is NO NEW ENROLLMENT is allowed by private insurers after DAY 1 of this HC act!!!

(quote from lines 12-16)

“individual health insurance issuer” offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day of Y1.”

Obama claims he isn’t trying to shut down the private insurance companies? LIAR!

And to make it more difficult for the private insurance companies to maintain “grand fathered” individual insurance policies, Obama has imposed additional hurtles:

(lines 21-26) LIMITATION ON CHANGES IN TERMS OR CONDITIONS. “Subject to paragraph (3) and except as required by law, the issuer does not change any of its terms or conditions, including benefits and cost sharing from those (which were) in effect from the day before the first day of Y1.

No improvements, better deals etc. allowed. No competing with the government allowed, even though the government is competing with OUR money, OUR national debt THEY create. Government can simply knowingly operate in a deficit, and make us all pay the shortfall later.

(Page 17) The same applies to employment group plans, provided BOTH types of plans meet the requirements for basic coverage spelled out in section 121, which I haven’t come across yet.

This format of hide and seek plagues this entire HC act bill, which makes it more difficult to read and understand than the unholy Koran. It’s no wonder most senators can’t read it, it’s beyond their capabilities.

CNSNews.com asked the White House if it had any data that could validate the claim that health care reform will be paid for in 10 years and will not increase the federal deficit. CNSNews.com also asked if it could cite any legislation scored by the CBO that shows the plan would not increase the federal deficit.

The White House press office responded by e-mailing links: one to President Obama’s federal budget for fiscal year 2010 and another to a Medicare Fact Sheet.

Funny how it is all missing from WH liarmarxistcheck.com

I checked FAQ and didn't see the question, "Why should I trust Obama to tell the truth?" See post # 9.

This is easy to accomplish if “REFORM” means denying health care to the group of citizens who most require it an an ongoing basis. In a nutshell this is what has so many seniors up in arms. They realize they will be the ones from whom these “savings” are extracted and it will be both in the form of rationed or denied care AND tax increases.

Technically, his plan won't add a single penny to the deficit. Add a whopping 14 zeros to the end, then you start to enter the realm of truth.

Another reason to call Barry "Zero". He's given us a whole new appreciation for the power of zeros.

You VASTLY underestimate the self interest of politicians. Not a one will vote for ANYTHING if it jeopordizes their chance for re election.

I do not believe they comprehend the total amount of anger at them. They are not getting it - at all levels. You, I believe, are underestimating how the Senate is run. The fix is in and Reid will deliver 50 votes - no matter what the cost.

"King big eared liar is suppose to have a town hall meeting today..."

There's the joke. Some "Town Hall". Secret Service doesn't permit even line of sight viewing of a President by anyone they haven't cleared. You can bet everyone in that room will have been put through a vetting and security clearance process, and will most likely be Obama administration appointees and/or their family members. The whole event will be expertly staged and managed. They'll even toss in a few actors posing as members of the "well dressed mob" so Obama can be seen handily shutting them down on national television. I wouldn't be surprised to see a return of the "Mt. Olympus" set used during the campaign.

A: The majority of the initiatives that would pay for reform will come from cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within existing government health programs; ending big subsidies to insurance companies;....

This means cutting mediaid and medicare coverage, the two government run health care entities that were hopelessly bankrupted and mismanaged by GOVERNMENT in the first place!

They are going to "replace" these simply by calling it something else. How in the world does that "fix" anything?

As I spelled out from the HCA above, all Obama is going to do is eliminate private insurance and force EVERYONE onto this one big huge government run medicaid program, which we will PAY dearly for, so that those welfare bums don't have to.

Ha ha ha. No, it won’t add a ‘single penny’ to the deficit—it will add 104 trillion pennies to the deficit! Ha ha ha.

‘Would Not Add One Penny to Deficit’

In other words, it'll be put on OUR tab - Tax increases like we've never seen before.
A massive tax increase would but us all on welfare (isn't that their long term plan?)

Ah the ever popular savings by ‘cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within government...’. Where have we heard that before? And when have we ever seen the savings?

"Reid will deliver 50 votes - no matter what the cost."

For what? They may very well pass a resolution to "keep on keeping on" about this and declare victory, quietly folding their tents and slinking off into the night.

Keep in mind with enough outrage, and I believe the outrage is both real and HUGE, anything they pass CAN be overturned when the majorities change as they certainly will at some point.

I don't profess to be a prescient being but know this, the very definition of a politician is to be self serving and work 24/7 to get re elected. What's Reid going to promise or threaten them with if their own polls and constituency responses are if they vote for a certain bill they will be tossed out?

You also said "you don't know how the Senate works"

Really? Ok, so tell me, how does it work?
