What will America look like after an economic collapse? What form of government if any will survive?

Hopefully, a much smaller and efficient government will survie a revolution. But, what will survive of 'America" if the government gets its way with our health care and lifestyles. We will live to please bureaucrats!

Two things;

I don't care what lawyers think is legal. The federal government is extra-constitutional and has been for the vast majority of the last 100 years. My rights come from God not lawyers.

The reason the federal has become the monster it is, is because the majority of Americans are no longer moral and just. People that take money from government are thieves. They are stealing from their fellow citizens using the government to coerce and effect the transfer. Politicians make laws that take the fruits of my labor and buy votes from thieves. In effect I have become their debt slave. The majority of my fellow citizens think this is OK. And the thievery is implemented by both both local and federal government. This is not moral or ethical. I don't give a d@mn if it is legal. Does anyone really believe this will be stopped “legally”? My fellow citizens will have to be disabused of the idea that they have the right to the fruits of my labor and I don't.

The next [un]civil war will make the first one look like a walk in the park on a warm spring day.

You've hit it squarely on the head. My response to those who believe that God will save us is that God will not save that upon which so many of us have turned their backs.

We're on our own until we can prove that we deserve to be called free Americans once more. We're going to have to earn that right just as our founders did - and it won't be pretty or cheap.

A very good article. However, as a military man, I take offense at this statement:

“Federal tenements, which in practice become enclaves of votes for the party in power, are made possible by exemption from real estate taxes,..”

These “enclaves” are predominately military installations, and they are certainly NOT “tenements” as the term is commonly understood. Furthermore, the military personnel are hardly apt to vote for any party that is anti-constitution, and therefore overwhelmingly vote for conservatives.

” prefer State Legislatures calling for a Constitutional Convention.”

Not no, but HELL NO!!!

Regardless of what purpose such a convention may originally be called for; once assembled, the agenda is unlimited! These days the Leftists would ensure the second and tenth amendments would be stricken, the first amendment dramatically altered or abolished, etc.

You need to remember the the convention in 1787 was originally called to revise the Articles of Confederation!

I’d be there in a New York minute (ha ha) No really. I am thinking about moving there now just because Texas is so much more intelligent than California.

I prefer State Legislatures calling for a Constitutional Convention.

NEGATIVE!

What we need is a vigorous return to Constitutional principles, not a re-write.

I wouldn't trust today's crop of politicians to draft a grocery list let alone a set of rules to run a republic. This country was blessed-by-God-lucky to have a Constitution written by some of the greatest minds of any age back then and somehow miraculously have it approved and passed by other contemporary politicians that make Dingy Harry and Blinky Pelosi look principled.

Let's not tempt fate again. What we have is a gift from God. We just have to use it as it was intended.

I believe you are correct. The left has almost succeeded in destroying this nation. They are so close they will never let go now. I believe they will give illegals amnesty and these "new citizens" will be voting in 2010. Absent a huge patriotic landslide, the commies will be in power until they are thrown out forcibly. IMHO even if they loose they won't leave. PFL BO will be America's Chavez. Mark my words.

“I would put my weight behind a secessionist movement; not secession from the Union, but secession from Washington.”

Alternatively, we can move Washington and make it the capital of Antarctica
