Glenn was powerful with that statement.

I think, without saying it, he implied .. .. and don't tell anyone about your decision if it is a decision to act.

Arizona will have on the Ballot a Constitutional Amendment to Outlaw Obamacare within the Stateof AZ, courtesy of the State Legislature. Some States are Standing up Allready and it’s gonna get real exciting soon, remember there will be no Summer Harvest from the worlds largest most productive Food Basket, The San Juaquin Valley, the water was turned off in February and 500,000 of the 670,000 acres is already dried up and baron. Just wait till we start getting all our food from other countries.

"If for no other reason, personal pride should prompt every governor and state legislator to take a secessionist attitude; they were not elected to be lackeys of the federal bureaucracy."

Funny thing about Glenn Beck. There was a time when I thought he was a bit of a goofball but his antics have an endearing quality about them. And his theatrics have the added benefit of making his points stick. In any case, I’d be proud to share a fox hole with him.

$100 trillion for mediscare alone? And the zero is prepared to indebt future generations for three times that much. Hell, he doesn’t care, it’s not like it’s his money.

This pisses me off more than anything. The way Congress continues to ignore this HERD of elephants in the room and continue blindly lining their own nests with our tax dollars and bribes.

namely that divided authority is a good guarantee of freedom.

Brilliant!

Infuriating ain't it. I have to wonder if most of the electorate, such as it is, sent representatives(?)to DC that have any concept of tomorrow. Or maybe more accurately, do they even care about tomorrow. I also wonder if we aren't past the point of no return. IOW, if they haven't taken us to the edge of the precipice already and there's no going back. It might just be indigestion, but my gut tells me we are headed for some very hard times. And while in decades past we may have thought we were sending people called to a higher standard to DC, we neglected to hold them to that higher standard of public service. And even though our leaders have let us down, it's not entirely their fault. Since we let them get away with it, we can claim some of the blame ourselves, no?

Texas is rolling toward secession:

I'm in. Period.

Look at the “temporary” Federal telephone tax. Instituted in the 1890’s to fund the two week Spanish American war... it was finally repealed in, get this... 2006!

It does seem that The Failed Democratic Party© has gone bonkers. They've pulled out all of the stops to try to create the socialist Utopia they have been dreaming of since the 1840s. “Its now or never, comrade!”

Liberal lawyers would outmaneuver the bubbas in a con-con. We'd become the new Soviet Union if that ever happened...

Beck’s a pacifist. He can’t quite wrap his head around the fact that there is no peaceful resolution to the problems we face. The Left has made sure of that.

There are only two choices:

1. Resist with everything you have.
2. Submit.

May be more truth in that than we realize. I'm not smart enough to know if they have taken us to the brink or not. My gut tells me we are very close. What will America look like after an economic collapse? What form of government if any will survive?

Well, I'll confess I'm not entirely convinced we're out of options, but I could be a convert pretty easily given a little nudge. I realize we're in desperate economic condition and the barbarians have breached the outer walls but is it beyond repair? I would really like to hear/see you expand your thoughts on that.

The Left has made sure of that.

Pure evil is at work in this country and has been since its beginning. But the character of the American people as a whole and our Constitution has held that evil at bay for the most part. The breakdown of the moral fiber has probably contributed more to our present circumstances than anything else IMHO. If there's a return of The People to divine principles, is there time to petition our gracious and benevolent but just God to heal our nation? THAT is one thing I'm all but convinced of, that we will go the way of other once great civilizations without His intervention.

Your two remaining points would make a great tag line ;^)

As a Texan, if we were to secede, would we have the inflow of patriots from other states to support our cause? (similar to the Alamo time period)

I can understand how you’d come to that conclusion, but I don’t think Beck’s a pacifist.

I think he’s just trying to “keep a lid on things” until it’s painfully obvious to everyone that the “awkward time” is over.

I think the question is would we all be welcome in Tejas? There may be a lot of us. You should plan on going in with OK in some new formulation of a republic since they are on the same page. Lots of patriots and natural resources there.

In a situation where there's likely to be some sort of stand-off with the FedGov. (or worse), I doubt we'll have time to be choosy.

I do agree with your strength in numbers philosophy. Unless, of course, we have the go-codes for OUR nukes.

So you will, reluctantly, take in an old CO mountain hippie!?!
If I bring my own arms of course. LOL

I figure the illegals won't stick around and most of the Libs and people with no guts will hightail it.

That will leave plenty of room for real patriots. YeeHah.
