Euthanasia? Geez, all that Quebecers have to do is go to their Winter Carnival and drink too much Caribou...

wow - wouldn’t this clear up that whole Canadian Quebec separatist/French problem in a hurry? 3/4 of Quebec are in favor of being euthanized.
To: wagglebee; Americanwolf
I want to hear Rodney Dangerfield's opinion on Quebec and euthanasia.
(Note to Quebecois: "euthanasia" does not refer to the youth in Asia.)

I wonder how long the waiting list would be?
To: wagglebee
I’m sure the rest of Canada would like to see that as well, just for the Québécois.
To: wagglebee
Euthanasia is usually only desired for someone else.

When Catholic countries go secular, they do it with born-again zeal.

So, are they saying that if the 3 out of 4 got their wish...Quebec would be a better place?

I’m also completely in favor of 3 out of 4 Quebecers being euthanized.
Can we bring it to a vote now?

Oh sure, pick a year in which Les Habs are out in the first round!
Besides, it was only the coach they wanted euthanized.

I will never forget something I read in the WSJ 10 or 15 years ago-- they said
"In Holland and Belgium, the very old, and the very sick, fear being made to go to the hospital...
...because they are afraid of being euthanized against their will..."
I have little problem with the person who is actually hopelessly sick, wanting to die. Been there, done that.
Under normal circumstances, I'd be willing to trust that judgment to a spouse, or sibling, or parent, or even a child or close friend.
What worries me, and truly scares me, is institutionalizing it, and coding it in to law- because the cost-cutters and other jackals will seize control, and people who don't want to die, will.
