Protests at Town Halls Have Succeeded in Fueling Opposition Among Americans

The raucous protests at congressional town hall meetings have succeeded in fueling opposition to proposed health care bills among some Americans, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds — particularly the independents who tend to be at the center of political debates.

In a survey of 1,000 adults taken Tuesday, 34% say the sometimes heated protests at sessions held by members of Congress have made them more sympathetic to the protesters' views; 21% say they are less sympathetic.

Independents by 2-1, 35%-16%, say they are more sympathetic to the protesters now.

The findings are bad news for President Obama and Democratic congressional leaders, who have scrambled to respond to town halls marked by aggressive questions and noisy demonstrations by those opposed to plans to overhaul the health care system.

You are right, we need to keep it up. Supposedly Obama will sign something by the end of the year ... anything.

Obama and the Leftist media decry supposed, fear-mongering charges of “Death Panels” as baseless, but are silent regarding explicit and indistinquishible HHS / Congressional jargon requiring or incentivizing physicians to “initiate guided consultations” regarding “advance care planning” or “end of life planning” (HR 3200 sec. 1233) in order to meet bureaucratic goals (http://www.ahrq.gov/research/endliferia/endria.htm) for “reducing resource use”and “positively influencing terminal care costs” through such “consultations.

Physicians are to be subjected to de-facto quotas via “quality reporting initiative” measured against yet to be defined standards, to be endorsed or adopted by “consensus based organizations”. These “Advance Care Planning Consultations” to include “an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title. “

Sec. 141 - 142 of the House bill “Establishes the ‘Health Choices Administration’, an independent executive branch agency.” “The ‘Health Choices Commissioner’ will carry out out functions including: establishment of qualified plan standards, establishment and operation of the Health Insurance Exchange, administration of affordability credits, and additional functions as laid out within the bill. The Commissioner can collect data necessary to carry out his or her duties and to promote quality and value and address disparities in health care.”

Corollary provisions empower other government bureuacrats to adopt and implement a “national wellness strategy” to “improve the Nation’s health” through “community prevention and wellness activities (sec. 3121) coordinated by the “Task Force on Clinical Preventive Services” (sec. 3131) charged with among other things, “‘taking into account health disparities in developing, updating, publishing, and disseminating evidence-based recommendations on the use of such services”.

Additionally, a czar-like, “Director of the Center for Quality Improvement” is to be charged with “ prioritizing areas for the identification, development, evaluation, and implementation of best practices for quality improvement activities in the delivery of health care services” in accordance with the evolving political consensus, likely complied by ACORN, and reflected by long established and all too familiar “we are the government and we know what’s good for you so shut up and take it” standard.

True! A few “moderate” Dems and indies I work with are sympathetic. One was seriously thinking of attending a Town Hall to protest!

It sure helps the anti-ObamaCare protestors when the Rodents call them:

Astroturf
Nazi
Racist
Birthers
UnAmerican

Yesterday on Hannity Dick Morris said something about there being a $7000.00 deductible. At least that was what I thought I heard him say, but have not seen it elsewhere. If so it would be a tidbit that would bring in a lot of younger people who think they are going to get their smaller problems taken care of.

I take issue with the term "Czar-like" "Czar" is an altogether too innocuous word; "commissar," as in those used by Lenin and Stalin, is a far more accurate word. After all, the Illegal Alien is our first communist president.

We need a listing of pro-Barky and pro-Barkycare sites. If he can compile an enemies list of us,then the least we can do is compile a list of enemy sites, infiltrate, observe, and report back with intel.
