Vanity question: Did anyone notice in the Dingell/ Sola debate this comment by Dingell?

Posted on 08/12/2009 7:16:59 PM PDT by InvisibleChurch

He said, "We'll put an amendment in which will address his specific problem..."

I know that I am supposed to show respect to my national leaders, but this one comment seemed odd, as though, he was trying to quell the debate by offering this fellow special favor.

I wonder how many amendments will be added to the bill to cover other "specific" scenarios?

The father of the young man in the wheelchair was on Fox News the other morning. I believe Dingell said that they “had” put an amendment in to cover such conditions. The father told Megyn Kelly that he had his lawyer check to see if that was the case, and the lawyer reported back that he could find no amendment of its kind. Then the father commented: “If it was such a comprehensive Bill as they claim, why would they even have to put an amendment of that type in the Bill.”

OK. It sounded like he meant Sola as a specific case.

If a bill is passed but not due to go into effect until 2013, can it be rescinded before then?

“...there is no authority except that which God has established.
The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Consequently, he who rebels against the authority
is rebelling against what God has instituted...”

Tell that to the founding fathers.

There is no law that says you have to respect anyone, especially a politician who obviously did not read the bill in its entirety, has no idea what it entails and the effect it will have on his constituency and the rest of the citizens of the USA but has the gall to conduct a townhall meeting (ordered to do so by Pelosi perhaps?).

This comment was offered by Dingell because he wished to appease an audience (and get out of there alive and with some dignity) and, specifically, the father of a cerebral palsy victim. He sounded like the “man behind the curtain.” Absolutely pathetic!

He didn’t do his homework and he deserves no respect whatsover!

I hope not, the Republicans made Clinton look good and gave him an economic legacy he didn't deserve. There is no hope with this dope.

I want to see a GOP with some balls, and, I think that will mean the women will have to take over.

“amendment in to specifically deal with his son’s problem?”

This is the hooker in the whole issue for these 535 clowns on Capitol Hill. The power trip these guys get from having each of us having to directly appeal to them, and “donate” to their “re-election fund” in order to obtain a consult, a referral, or a medication is why they are in our faces with their defiance of “We the People “

I’ve read that they say that heart diease and Diabetes are called “life style choice illnesses? Since I was 9 yo when I was diaganosed with type 1 diabetes and weighed 50 pounds at the time I really find that hard to swallow. Guess my condition won’t be covered?

There are certain diseases that are passed on by our parents and grandparents. They are hereditary conditions for the most part. But even so with proper personal responsibility with regard to ones own individual health, even these diseases can be controlled and perhaps even eliminated.

Ah yes, but notice that the homosexual diseases - and there are dozens of ways that li \festyle “choice” kills you! - IS NOT a qualifying reason to charge more for THEIR health care and end-of-life fees.

Yes but the bill from what I’ve heard makes no allowance for genetic conditions like I have. I’ll be expected to exercise to take care of it I guess even though without insulin I will die. I’m peterfied to tell you the truth. I’m only 48 and have had it for nearly 40 years but am still in fairly good condtion.

I’m sorry, you’ll have to get in line for the train ride and free showers just like the rest of us .... (No exceptions for unhealthy, overly dependent expensive radicals like you.)
