Bill Clinton: Make college campuses greener

Former President Bill Clinton spoke about the environment today in Chicago, offering his reputation, his folksy wit and his foundation's Rolodex to university and college presidents seeking green technologies to retrofit their campuses.

Clinton spoke to the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment, some 250 university presidents and top managers looking to green up their campuses, train students for a green economy and draft pragmatic strategies to sell those changes at home. In a still-stalled economy, Clinton exhorted them to move faster.
"For all the good we're doing, we're just piddlin' compared to what we could be doing," the former president told the university executives in the Palmer House Hilton ballroom. "All this work is out there laying on the ground, begging to be done with absolutely certain rate of return."
"I am anxious to speed this thing up," Clinton told the educators.
The ultimate benefits of such a push aren't yet known. Current green building standards were first set in 1998. Both the Clinton Climate Initiative (est. 2006) and the group of climate-concerned school administrators (est. 2007) are new.
But green is hot, and the Clinton effort has momentum from headline-grabbing projects in a parallel bid to woo cities. Among its more ambitious projects are retrofitting for the super-tall Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) and the 4.2-million-square-foot Merchandise Mart in Chicago, as well as the Empire State Building in Manhattan. Projects seek to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon footprints.

I would much rather see college campuses look smarter, less like indocrination camps when you view who their valued professors and speakers are. From the FAR LEFT, 99% of the time. No Christians, but Islamic speakers, I could go on and on. it’s a cesspool, due, IMO, to federal involvement.
Bubba wants to buy each and every coed a copy of “Leaves of Grass” - that will ‘green ‘em up’.
Clinton is like a case of clap that will not go away.
Turn off the heat and the A/C both and they’ll be thoroughlly green by almost any measure, in a flash. Just let the students understand the reason why.

Last night on one of the Fox programs, I think Sean Hannity’s, Ann Coulter was talking about the proposal to have everyone’s medical records in the government’s hands in Washington, and how records like that always leak. Her comment was that we would finally find out if Bill Clinton had a venereal disease.
That would be an improvement from being red.
I agree, level all the building that house Art History, Film, Latin and Humanities Majors and plant another football field.
