THE ALTERCATION began when Officer Tamika Gross challenged Latifa Savage to a brawl in front of a vacant store next to Savage's Mill Creek home on Saturday, according to neighbors.
" 'You got a lot of mouth 'cause you holdin' that baby,' " Gross said, according to witnesses.

Still, witnesses said the tiny woman got the best of the cop in the fight. When backup officers arrived and restrained Savage, Gross kicked her, slammed her head in the sidewalk and screamed threats, forcing her colleagues to repeatedly pull her away, witnesses said.

Savage was face down on the ground. As Gross rearranged her hair weave, officers handcuffed Savage, witnesses said.
"When the officer found out she [Savage] had pulled out half her weave, she snapped," McGill said. "She jumped on the girl and began beating her, kicking her and slamming her face in the concrete."

Whatever happened to the cop in the “Banana Eating Jungle Monkey” story? Haven’t heard a word since he sued. Did he ever get fired as the mayor ranted?
Actually, if you read the entire story at the link, that’d be a good outcome for the victim.
But you’re right, Tamika won’t get held to the same standard a white male cop would. And why should she? She wasn’t held to the same standard when she was recruited or in the Academy.

Sensible people swallow their pride, shut up and, if possible, get their badge number and walk away. There are ways to deal with uppity cops: fighting with them is not one of those ways.
Fighting with cops invariably involves handcuffs -- which are uncomfortable at the best of times -- and can additionally involve anything from batons to mace to pepper-spray to Tasers to police dogs to guns.
No it isn't fair, neither is it intended to be.

I saw this same scene play out on the National Geographic Channel just last week! It was described as some sort of an odd territorial-mating ritual, if I remember correctly.

It seems, more and more, that police officers are beginning to behave like gang members.... you disrespect them and they are going to “mess you up”. Perhaps they are watching too much of the Cops series on Fox.
They should get this woman off the force and take appropriate legal action against her or they will have a bigger mess to clean/cover up next time.
Note to self...No matter how thirsty you are, do not stop into a bar in Donteze's neighborhood for a drink...

There is a ceremony, and the sisters and female cousins of the male have the other males whip them repeatedly with thin sticks. And the females don't run away, and they ignored the pain. They chased the males and challenged them to whip them some more and they didn't flinch when they were struck. The females get life long scars from this ceremony.
Finally, the male must jump over 4 oxen which are side by side and he must do this 4 times, otherwise he fails and must do the ceremony some other time. The guy in the ceremony made it three times, but he failed the fourth time. However, the judges gave him one more try because he was so popular, and he made it.
The point of the females sustaining the whipping is that they show their male relative that they were so loyal to him that they allowed themselves to be whipped for him. Then later in life, if things don't go smoothly in their own lives, they can always return to their brother, or cousin, and his is obligated to care for them, no matter what. It is a very painful version of social security.
