Posted on 08/15/2009 2:43:49 PM PDT by dajeeps
As of July 20, 2009:
The Brainroom counts 32 czars in the Obama administration, based on media reports from reputable sources that have identified the official in question as a czar. In addition, President Obama has said that he will create the position of cyber czar, and there have been media reports that there could be a health insurance czar and a copyright czar. When and if those positions are filled, that would bring the total to 35. Since czar isn't an official job title, the number is somewhat in the eye of the beholder.
NOTE: positions that also existed under previous administrations are indicated with an *.

When Bersin left the position in 1998, border arrests were on pace for an 18-year low of just more than 200,000. Any of them pay taxes before they were appointed?
We need to start an “Out with the czars campaign.”
“Any of them pay taxes before they were appointed?”
Who knows. That’s the problem with “czars”. They are not provided for by congress, have no congressional oversight and no confirmation process.
Thanks for the list.
Freepers feel free to dig in and find all that you can on each czar. Post info here and send to Glenn Beck. Let’s see what the connection (among other things) are WITH THESE czars.
I assume there is a reason why he has so many and yes I sound like a conspiracy type but we all have to be something.
Since when does Obama have unlimited access to taxpayers money to hire and pay whoever and how many people he wants, who answer to no one, and are accountable to no one?
It's all criminal.
Does anyone know who which president created the first “czar?”
I wonder when he’ll appoint the Wipe 0bama’s Butt Czar?
My favorite Obammy cars:
3. AMC Pacer
4. AMC Gremlin
8. Health care
9. Cap ‘n Trade
All dead and gone.
Oh,...czars,....I thought you said cars. Never mind. Sorry.
I have a connect to add.
Lexus Nexus, which just pulled ads from Glenn Beck’s show is owned by Reed Elsevier Inc., which also owns Pollutech Horizons, a sustainability venture.
I don’t know of any hard connections here, but it would seem that Reed Elsevier Inc. is connected in some way to Van Jones the Green Jobs czar who is the co-founder of Color of Change (colorofchange.org), the organization that is running a campaign to get advertisers to pull ads from Glenn Beck’s show.
Reed Elsevier Inc. is also into medical technology and business solutions, incluing a staffing firm.
Franklin D Roosevelt.
#33. CONTENT CZAR (Radio) Mark Loyd FCCs Chief Diversity Officer
The man that Obama appointed to be the content czar for talk radio is Mark Loyd. Loyd wrote a book in 2006, published by the University of Illinois Press, entitled, Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America, in which he proposes, among other things, that private radio broadcasters be required to pay a sum equal to their total operating costs in order to benefit public radio broadcasting.
Forget for a moment that no business can survive by paying some other entity a sum equal to their total operating expenses. This, of course, would drive private broadcasters out of business. But look at what he is proposing. He wants public broadcasting to be funded totally on the backs of private broadcasters, many of whom operate in the red.
Such idiotic, mutton-headed notions would be laughable were they not dead serious.
And thats not all.
I’ve been looking for this.
I guess it depends on what you count as a “czar”.
Some “czars” in this list are called something other than czar in their title. By reading through the list, you can see open slots which haven’t been filled yet. And at the bottom, there are some additional slots which are rumored to be in the works. Or maybe it’s tongue in cheek, since some are ridiculous. Wait, they are all ridiculous.
Apparently, Glenn Beck is not their only target. I read on one of the liberal websites that they were targeting sponsors for Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh. All considered to be threats to the left. Must be striking a nerve with the truth.
I doubt there is any scrutiny
I think FDR did it during the depr4ession I think they were called ‘Dictators’ or something in those days
Posthumous Grand Dragon of Ideology.
This administration is amazing in a fearful sort of way.
Not vetted by Congress, no oversight by Congress, they’re a bunch of loose cannons running loose.
And prolly completely unconstitutional.
How come the Repubs didn’t scream bloody murder when he anointed the first one? Way too late now.
Franklin D Roosevelt.
And us "seasoned ones" know how that fart in church went over throughout the decades because of the FDR directives.

30. Urban Affairs Czar - Adolfo Carrion Jr.
Title: White House Director of Urban Affairs Salary: $158,500
Salary: $158,500, Salary: $158,500, Salary: $158,500 ect...
I just counted. Russia only had 32 czars and it spanned 592 years (1325 - 1917). We have over that in less than 6 months. Although, each month with Caligula, has seemed at least a century long.
Here's an article about this by Michelle Malkin.
I just started to compile a file on his administration today. This jump starts my research by an order of magnitude.
We need to call them what they are. They are COMMISSARS.
They are probably all Democrats or Communists and thus probably have not paid taxes. Elite leftists are Exempt.
Thanks for the update. My head was spinning as it was. Now we have 18 more to digg around in.
I bet Obama’s strategy is to overwhelm us with these people so it’s hard to focus on exactly what is going on. There’s just so much abuse of power going on, it’s hard to know where to start.
Sounds like his shadow cabinet....or just a way of rewarding certain donors with cushy jobs....or a bureaucratic way of paying lip service to lots of campaign promises for a president whose grip on policy isn’t really as good as advertised. People have been complaining that these positions have been sort of borderline extra-constitutional, perhaps. But I wonder if they have much in the way of real power, and if not, what the heck are they for?
Methinks it’s the Chicago way.
Like Generales in the Mexican Army...
Call your Senator and Representative and ask him which of the czars is replacing him/her and could he/her please give you the address and phone number of that czar.
We're losing our country.
“Does anyone know who which president created the first czar?”
Andrew Jackson mistrusted many in his cabinet and had some close friends come in through the “back door” to advise him. From what I’ve read these extraneous advisers made most of the decisions.
I don’t know if they were paid or not, however.
This one is interesting...
6.voter list czar
I suppose someone in ACORN has that job.
For a little Kommisar fun:
I think I’ll play this while I dig around for some dirt. LOL
Thanks for the info. It seems as though the term “czar” is being used more in 2009 than any other time. It’s also interesting to note the difference between “czar” as a derisive term in American history and the modern acceptance
of the title as legitimate in a republic.
Thank you for this.
